So Happy with my Revision!
I cannot sing Dr. Cochran's praises loud enough. This guy is seriously amazing. I had my first rhinoplasty done when I was 15 by a horrible doctor in my home town of Kansas City. I'm Hawaiian/Eastern European so I had a very bulbous, large nose and that doctor just made it slightly thinner and incredibly lopsided. It was all I could stare at in the mirror and it was always on my mind when I left the house -- I didn't even like pictures being taken of me. Nine years later and I finally couldn't handle it anymore and decided to get a revision. I searched extensively for the perfect doctor and RealSelf brought me to Dr. Cochran, Dr. Davis and Dr. Rohrich. I flew to Texas and Florida to have consultations with all three of them. Dr. Cochran definitely stood out as the most caring and most passionate about what he does. My consultation with him took nearly 2 hours and he laid out what I could expect from my revision. My first rhinoplasty left me with so much scar tissue that he flat out told me that my nose probably wouldn't be perfectly symmetrical again, especially my nostrils. While that was a bummer, I felt like I could completely trust him to improve it significantly. Although, I did have my hesitations because he's not a board certified plastic surgeon.
On the day of my surgery I was super nervous and was crying in the pre-surgery room and he didn't rush me at all - his staff was super kind through it. That really stood out to me because I remember doing that when I was 15 and the doctor getting incredibly frustrated at me and saying he had other surgeries to do so he didn't have time for that (should have been a major red flag, but I was young and dumb).
I'm now 8 months post-op and I can't believe how good my nose looks. When I saw him after surgery he told me he was even surprised at how good he was able to make it. While it's not perfectly symmetrical, it's such a significant improvement. I don't always worry about how my nose looks in pictures/when I go out/ when I'm meeting new people. That confidence alone is fully worth the $15k price tag.
Seriously, if you're hesitant at all about booking with him because he technically isn't a plastic surgeon, don't be. He's truly amazing at what he does and I can't thank him enough for giving me my confidence back.
