Had my final drain removed today (YAY!!), and visit with Dr. Carpenter. He also removed a few stitches & the steri strips from my breasts. He said I could do the tummy tuck ones at home. So I'm free & clear to lotion up & moisturizer. I'm still debating whether or not to purchase a product with silicone in it. Right now I have the palmers skin therapy lotion. Healing is going great :)

You look wonderful!! I personally recommend starting scar treatment as soon as you're able to!

What brand did you go with? I'm looking at New gel. It supposedly dries and makes a little strip. I thought it would be easier than the bandages.

I use the Pro-Sil Sport as it has SPF 30 in it. Massaging the incision helps with the scar tissue as well.

You look great! Congratulations on doing this for yourself The difference is already quite dramatic! Did you have a pain pump or exparel for pain? How long before you were functioning around the house?
May 5, 2015
Thanks! I'm very happy so far :) I had a pain pump that stayed in Thursday through Monday, then after that just relied on Percocet for about another week and a half. I'm not on any pain meds now. I stopped around 2 weeks. I would say right at around a week and a half I was doing little things like sweeping the floor, folding laundry, just trying to help out my sister when I could. She was staying with me, but went home two days ago, so my energy level has dropped a little since I'm doing more, but it's not bad. I'm still not doing any heavy lifting...20 lbs max, and bending over still feels weird, so maybe I'll build a booty with all the squats I've been doing haha! Also, I rented a medical recliner that brings you to a standing position, and that was a huge help the first week so I didn't have to strain getting up & down.

You look amazing!! Did you have a full belly tuck? You are able to stand straight from other people that ive seen? Im getting mine in sept.
May 5, 2015
Thanks :) Yes, it was a full with lipo on the flanks as well. I was definitely hunched for the first week, but then after that started trying to stand straighter for 5, then 10, 20 minutes at a time, just gradually increasing as to not overwhelm my skin. I'm always 3 weeks post op now, & it barely pulls at all to be completely straight with my shoulders back.

You look great! You are standing straight! I will be having my mommy makeover on 5/8, its almost here! I wish you continued healing and amazing results.

I've had a great experience with no complications so far (knock on wood!), I hope you have the same! I will say, one thing that really helped out for me was renting a medical recliner that brings you up to a standing position. It was only $75 for the month, and well worth it!

Wow! You look great! How is the healing process going so far?
April 23, 2015
Thanks! It hasn't been too bad. The first two days were kind of tough, but after that the only thing that really bugged me was my drains. My incision wraps around behind me, so everytime I would sit back it pushed on my drain sites. But my last one comes out on Monday, so hallelujah!!
April 23, 2015
That's awesome! I'm having my incision wrap around as well.. How many drains did you have? I saw my surgeon today for pre-op and he said I could have up to 4! I also worry about my little one.. She just turned a year and is very attached to me.. How is your 18 month old taking it, I'm assuming you can't pick them up just yet?
April 26, 2015
I had one at the end of each side, so two for my tummy tuck, then I also had two for the breast reduction. It was really hard for me with my little girl. She is also very attached. I'm a stay at home mom, and rarely get anyone to babysit her. My sister is around her a lot though, and has been staying with me while I recover. So that's made it s lot easier, but my daughter has still been acting out a little...just being more cranky & whiny. It's really hard to not pick her up (she's 21 lbs) when she comes up to me & reaches up. But...it's only for a few weeks!

As you can see, a lot of my fat was carried in my abdomen & breasts, and was really frustrating. Weight loss barely touched it.
