Detailed recovery notes below.
Here is a summary: I tried Ultherapy before this, and it did nothing for me, literally nothing, even the doc agreed, and gave me a second round for free, which also did basically nothing. Profound seemed like the next thing to try. The procedure itself was pretty involved, but tolerable. Many many numbing injections (30+) in my face - but once I survived that part, I didn't feel a thing. I didn't bruise almost at all, but swelling took 10-14 days to go down, and I broke out in the interim so I looked swollen like I just had serious oral surgery, with pimples. I'm over a month out now, and see slight improvement in jaw line and marionette lines, but not as much as I had hoped for the price tag - in other words, there is change, but not yet a profound change. Will patiently await the 6 month mark when I am told results should peak.

Here are my daily notes starting the day of the procedure, in case you care:
Friday 6:30pm done – holes in face, swollen
Saturday Day 1 – very swollen, small hematomas around mouth become apparent.
sunday Day 2 – less swollen. At night, little pimples appear. Slight bruising (greenish) becomes apparent on neck, side of face. Day 3 (Monday) – definitely cant go to work, and probably not really anywhere public. Swollen, now looks like I have a fat face and a double chin. Bunch of pimples around chin/cheeks, under nose. Red lip bruise noticeable, other small hematomas around mouth starting to fade.
Monday Day 3: slightly more normal, but undoubtedly still swollen. Missed work again. A whole bunch of pimples now. Started using salicic acid to fight them. Lip bruise still apparent. Other small hematomas basically gone around mouth. Side of face is greenish/blur but faded. Neck has a green halo but barely noticeable.
Tuesday Day 4: STILL SWOLLEN. A few pimples. Neck bruises mostly gone or barely visible. Cheek/temple bruise getting more blue/green actually.
Wednesday day 5: STILL SWOLLEN. A little less, but very evidently still swollen. Before I looked like I was wearing a fat suite, and almost not like me – this morning more like a really fat face but now looks like my face. More pimples. Got a facial/lymphatic drainage. Feels like it helped with swelling but no control condition. Pimples definitely gone though.
Thursday day 6: STILL SWOLLEN – went to work but people definitely noticed. No pimples, but instead very dry flaky skin over red dots where pimples used to be. Neck beginning to feel itchy and looks a little funny.
Friday day 7: neck definitely itchy all day, maybe slightly less swollen but still swollen and hard to the touch. Little spots on it. Less flaking around where pimples were, but there are red skin patches.
Saturday day 8. Pretty much the same except cheeks are little less swollen and less hard to the touch. Texture of cheek skin a little dotted. Neck is still swollen and is a little less itchy.
Sunday day 9: definitely less swollen and itchy. I can tell I’m not yet 100% back to my old face, but I don't think anyone else would notice today.
Monday day 10 – swelling really down a lot. Not totally gone but I almost look back to normal. Still a few bumps on cheeks and neck but invisible.
Wednesday day 12 – one of my cheeks is 100% back to normal, the other one still is a bit more round than before – and a little harder to the touch, and bumpy. I’m noticing a bit concern that they are not healing evenly, especially since the right cheek that is still healing is the “less old looking” side. The left side needs more “help,” but seems to be recovering faster. I don’t know how any of this will translate to long term change, and will have to wait to see. I also have a slight slight feeling that my marionette lines look a little softer. Not sure if that’s possible so soon or if I am hallucinating.
Saturday day 15: right cheek still not 100% back to normal, so face looks mildly uneven. The feel of it when I touch it is also still a tiny bit harder and puffier than normal, and from the other cheek. There are also a few bumps on it still. I did this morning however for the first time thought I noticed a change in the marionette lines on the left side (the one that otherwise is back to normal).
Monday day 17 – I think I’m seeing some smoothing of marionette lines. Right cheek is close to normal finally. Also occasional slightly itching right cheek still.
Day 20 - definitely cheeks back to normal now, and I think slightly more defined jaw - and occasional itching still.

I talked to a doctor who performed many profound procedure and she said it didn't do anything for marionette lines. She also said it would only last two years. Did your doctor mention any of this to you?

Hi il384,

How did your results end up after 6 months?

I did this 4 months before my sister's wedding - and in the weeks before the wedding it became pretty clear that my main concerns (marionette lines and slight jowling) were not fully addressed by this. Yes, there was improvement to skin texture and slight improvement to the lines - but definitely not enough, and definitely not given the 2-3 weeks of recovery and the very high price tag. At that point I got $1200 worth of fillers and that did the trick much better (though fillers are temporary). I will not be repeating this and would not recommend.
