Its been like a month and a half since my surgery. Apparently Im recovering pretty well. Starting to gain back an eensy bit of sensation but not keeping my hopes up on that just yet. Took a while getting used to the changes but really feel like this was the choice that needed to be made. My face finally looks like it used to years ago-but even cooler cause cheekbomes are more prominent I think? Still a little swollen in cheeks but look normal. After 2 and a half weeks I was already socializing and running errands but felt tired still and discomfort a little. Surgery was great. Highly recommend my surgeon. Having a history of BDD has been difficult during the journey and I am by no means perfect but I am highly improved and very greatful for the amazing work done. Greatful for my orthodontist too for his role in designing the surgery plans. (Dr.Freeman)

Hello, I may need this surgery as well for on overbite correction. I too live in Toronto. Im glad to know this doctor worked out for you. Is your face (nerves) feeling ok? Is it as perfectly functional as before? Also a main concern for me if facial aesthetic. I have a weak chin and over bite however a relatively long face. Do you think your face looks longer or elongated than before or is it the same? And how has your appearance changed overall? Thank you in advance, you're looking great!

my face looks shorter as i believe a part of my surgery included a genioplasty and shifting the jaw back, as well as the fact they cut part out. In your case probably you have the opposite problem and ive seen many people with weak chins have them pushed out and become more prominent. Id talk with your surgeon about that. As for the nerves, out of luck for that. Slowly alot of my face sensation is coming back however lower lip and chin supposedly are hardest to gain back sensation in and may take 12 months or longer. I wasnt able to feel alot of my face or even nose before but now i can feel most except 3/4 of my lips, above the lips and around lips and chin still out of luck. You might be a messy eater for a while because of it.

its weird the nerve loss makes face feel like it has a giant bruise on it but you cant feel it at the same time, and shocks of pain come and go at different times.

First of all amazing results!

Two questions. How is your face feeling now? Do you have most of the feeling back. Next is about cost did you have insurance to help cover some of it? that's such a great price!

Thank you

Day 6 and I'm feeling great. Waking up isn't easy but today was a lovely day once I got out of the wakey funk. Going outside for the first time was lovely I got to see my friends at the grocery store I work at and stroll down with the perfect fresh air. I can technically talk, but I do sound like a baby and its bit tiring doesn't always sound quite right but it's a huge difference from 2 days ago where I could do nothing what so ever. I can sip my own drinks now which is awesome. Still sticking to light beverages tho and stopped being as hungry compared to the other days. Things are looking up. As for the results I will not judge them until my teeth are aligned by my ortho and my swelling gone down past that 6 month mark. Looking forward to hopefully some aesthetically pleasing results in regards to jaw area. My eyebrows and upper face are already visibly more symmetrical.
