I am a mom of 2 boys ages 14 and 10. When I was 17 I gave birth to my first child. I gained 80 pounds that pregnancy.I lost the weight and pretty much maintained that till my second pregnancy. After that my body was ruined. I had my second son when I was 21 and gained 90 pounds that time. I ended up losing 100 pounds and have been able to maintain pretty much around that.

I am 31 now and am so ready to have a flat stomach again. Can't even remember what it was like anymore. I really wanted to get my breasts done too but that will have to be sometime in the future. Way too much money for me. I am supposed to get my surgery on August 24th.

I have an ear infection at the moment and am on an antibiotic, so I am hoping it's cleared up by then. I am a little nervous about getting the surgery and the recovery but so many have done it so I think I will be ok. I will post some before pictures soon to show you my yucky stomach lol.

Less than two weeks to go! Looking forward to watching your journey unfold. Thanks for sharing here on RealSelf.

Hi Badbecky, somehow 2 kids seems to be the magic body-wrecking number. I also have 2 kiddos, although they are still little. I am excited to see how your tummy tuck comes out because we have very a similar belly shape. Did your surgeon show you a "virtual" result on the computer?
User Avatar

Hi. No, I wish I would have seen a virtual result. That would of been neat. Didn't even think to ask. I have browsed and I have never really seen anyone else with a similar belly of mine. I am excited about this but am getting nervous. Starting to feel "real" now.

Well we can be belly-sisters. When I work up the courage, I will post pics of mine. I bought one of those "Bender Balls" at Target which came with DVD's, I have to say I am noticing some difference in my poochiness. I think the love handles will require more convincing though....

I can't even believe I posted pics of my stomach lol. Never thought I would. I figured what's the difference, so many post there pics and videos of their stomachs so doesn't really matter. I like doing those turbo jam workout videos although I have to say I haven't done too much the last week and a half.

You are coming down to the wire! Have you been doing anything to organize yourself for your recovery? I have seen a few people post lists of supplies, etc... that they recommend for the first few days. I am thinking-make sure your air conditioning is working well so you dont roast in your binder.
August 16, 2011
Hi, I just bought one of those "Bender Balls" also this weekend at Target. The are on clearance right now if anyone is interested. And I felt a difference immediately! It really seems to get at the deep muscle layers!

It is getting very close. My sons birthday is the day before too. I probably should of got everything by now but I am planning on going out this weekend and doing that. I am definitly going to be looking at the lists I have seen online. My thing is I just don't know what to wear. I guess you need shirts that button in the front and I think I will need to find a bra that fastens in the front too. I'm just hoping I can find something. I am not wearing a moomoo or whatever lol. I'm wondering how long will it take before I can put my regular t-shirts back on. I will be using my a/c for sure! I prob will get hot lol

Dion, I will have to try those bender balls once I'm done with the recovery. They seem like they would work

Maybe wear a swimming suit cover-up type of thing? Something loose that you can put on yourself if no one is around to help. I would think nothing you have to raise your arms up too much to put on. I read another post that said to get some thin tank tops to wear as a layer under the binder-that sounds like a good idea so it isnt directly on your skin.

Target is great... my bender ball was on clearance too. $17 well spent. I highly recommend it, I have been doing the exercises as instructed on the DVD's and have seen a marked difference in my abdomen. My only complaint is that the ball seems to be loosing air, but I cant get the plug out to add more.

It went good. I was a little worried because I have been dealing with an ear infection this past week. But my ears are almost better. I was worried I would have to reschedule the surgery.
User Avatar
August 19, 2011
I wouldnt think you should have to reschedule, most ear infections clear up easily with antibiotics and your surgery is still a week away. Did they check your ears?
User Avatar
August 19, 2011
Yes they checked my ears. She said I still had some congestion but it wasn't red anymore. I am all done the antibiotic and I think its gone completely now. I was a little worried because I was really sick. I even had a bad cough. But it is all good now :-).

Hey Girl! I am 31 as well and my tummy tuck is the day after yours, Aug. 25th! Less than a week away and I can't believe I am really doing it! How are you doing? I have been trying to get all my ducks in a row for my hubbie and 3 kids =) I'll post my story and pics soon. We both have stretch marks up to our ribs so I'll be excited to keep up to date on your story! Good luck!

Good luck on your surgery too! It didn't seem real up until a couple weeks ago. I knew I was going to get a tummy tuck sometime but it was always sometime in the future. So now it's down to 5 more days and I am nervous. I am excited but just not looking forward to the actual surgery and recovery period. Post your story and pics soon :-). I am hoping my stretch marks won't be really bad looking when it's all said and done.

Yesterday I bought some pillows and some clothes for after the surgery. Less than 5 days to go.. I think all I need to get are my prescriptions and I'm all set. (I wanted to post this as an update but its not working)

T-minus 3 days and counting! I am excited for you, did you fill all your prescriptions already? It seems like some people have several to fill, while others dont have too many. I wonder if the drs that use pain pumps prescribe less?
User Avatar
August 22, 2011
I know it's getting so close. The day after tomorrow. Wow can't believe how nervous I am getting. Just the actual surgery and pain afterwards. I'm getting my meds filled today. They gave me percocets for pain, and something for nausea and an antibiotic. Also that Arnica Montana which I actually just started taking a few minutes ago. I wonder if I will get a pain pump. No idea. My sons birthday is tomorrow so I am trying not to feel so anxious about my surgery.
User Avatar

Having your sons birthday is probably a good distraction...less time to think about other things when you are chasing kiddos. Dont be nervous-pain is always temporary. You can handle ANYTHING that is temporary.
User Avatar
August 23, 2011
Thanks jackieliz. I know I can handle it. I do just have to remember it's temporary.
