Got Voluma to Try to Help with Wrinkling Under Eyes

I have had two juvederm injections to try to lift and tighten the wrinkled skin under my eyes. I really haven't noticed anything other that pain and minor swelling at the injection sites. I was told that it could take weeks to see the effects. I had a very conservative upper and lower Bleph almost 2 years ago. I am not 100% happy with the loose skin under my eyes. I was told that juvederm would help. The RN who did the injections asked me if I would ever considered a Bleph. Really?

Was it Juvederm or Juvederm Voluma?  Just checking as Voluma is usually only used in the cheek area.  Let us know what you think of the results once the bruising and swelling settles down.

Yes it was voluma. The thought was that they would do it along the cheek bones and it would lift the skin an pull it up and straighten out the wrinkles.

How is the swelling and bruising now?

I need to clarify. It was juvederm voluma I had.

I just had Voluma and it's about 2 weeks. Finally settling in and looking great. You may need filler in the tear troughs-sounds like that's the area you're unhappy about. Restylane does well there. I would see a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon for recommendations. I know people like some of these RN's doing filler but I want an MD. Voluma is good for cheeks- not under the eyes

I guess you are right. The RN works at the doctors office and he had really talked her up as being an expert on injecting fillers--said she had a lot of training and continues to go to training to enhance her skills. I got the impression that he didn't do fillers at all. I am going to have a follow up with my doctor to see what steps he recommends.

It shouldn't look like that. You need to insist on your money back. Are you sure it's voluma? And you had surgery ? Something not right

Can't vouch for the voluma but I can for the surgery. http://www.realself.com/user/376382

Baggy saggy wrinkled eyes

Here is a picture of what I am dealing with post upper/lower Bleph. Once the swelling went away, approximately 18 months post surgery -- I kid you not, it was clear the doctor did not remove enough saggy skin or fat from under my eyes. The esthetician sold me a load of crap that voluma would fix the issue even though it is not typically used for this issue, "they have seen incredible results." Well not wanting to go under the knife again I bought it. Had I even heard of thermi smooth I would have absolutely tried that first. I'm getting so tired of obsessing about this. Maybe I should just give into the hands of time and break all my mirrors. ????

Is this after you had voluma or before?

It was after. Actually I think it has helped a bit. It took about a month to notice a difference

It's been several months now and I think it helped a little. I was told to give it a few months. Still not what I had hoped for, but it will have to do for now,

Just saw your update and after pic. I think it looks a lot better! I'm sorry you didn't get what you'd hoped for...but I definitely see a difference and when you are focusing on one area it seems much more extreme (like when you paint a room and you look around for all of the mistakes...once the furniture gets moved in, you don't even notice the paint job). Thank you for sharing your story. I'm going to move you into our Voluma community so people don't get confused with what procedure you had.
