I am 6 weeks out from the procedure and I am experiencing complications in my right breast. My left breast seemed to "drop" into a final position and all swelling is gone. The right side seemed to be higher and still swollen. At the end of the 6th week, the right side started to leak a clear fluid at first and then a yellowish fluid and by night fall, blood. I went to my surgeon the following day and she suctioned out the breast, took a culture and started me on 2 antibiotics. All seemed to be going well after that, until 2 days later, when I started leaking the blood/clear fluid again. The culture showed no signs of infection after 72 hours, but the final results will be not be complete until the 7th day (3 more days). I have not had any fever or other signs of infection at this point. In my opinion, it seems like a hematama, but not sure why it would fill back up after she suctioned it the first time.

8 1/2 weeks Post-OP

It's been 8 1/2 weeks since the breast implant revision and I am still having complications. 2 weeks ago I had a drain tube and had it in for a week and it drained 25-30cc's each day. After 7 days the tube was removed, but a small opening left to allow for draining. The fluid is a clear slimy substance and soaks through the gauze dressing I am using. I also still have a squishy lump on the inner part of the breast (the cleavage side), what could be causing this?

Breat Implant Removed
apchamp123November 12, 2014
After trying to save the implant over a 4 week period, the implant was finally removed. I will now wait 3-6 months to allow the breast to heal and have the implant put back in. The explanation from my surgeon was that this was a "freak-like, isolated" type of situation and not sure why the implant was not being accepted by my body. After a second opinion, it was suggested to be a damaged lymph node/gland that was accidentally nipped during the exchange and this is what was causing the constant draining and also what was pushing the implant out like a splinter. Hopefully, the healing will be accomplished in 3 months or less and I can have the new implant put in and resume my life.
