Implant Removed

This is the photo after the implant was removed

Breat Implant Removed

After trying to save the implant over a 4 week period, the implant was finally removed. I will now wait 3-6 months to allow the breast to heal and have the implant put back in. The explanation from my surgeon was that this was a "freak-like, isolated" type of situation and not sure why the implant was not being accepted by my body. After a second opinion, it was suggested to be a damaged lymph node/gland that was accidentally nipped during the exchange and this is what was causing the constant draining and also what was pushing the implant out like a splinter. Hopefully, the healing will be accomplished in 3 months or less and I can have the new implant put in and resume my life.

8 1/2 weeks Post-OP

It's been 8 1/2 weeks since the breast implant revision and I am still having complications. 2 weeks ago I had a drain tube and had it in for a week and it drained 25-30cc's each day. After 7 days the tube was removed, but a small opening left to allow for draining. The fluid is a clear slimy substance and soaks through the gauze dressing I am using. I also still have a squishy lump on the inner part of the breast (the cleavage side), what could be causing this?

My doctor has been awesome throughout this process. She's kind, compassionate and very personable and has great sympathy for me and what I am going through and she is trying desperately to salvage this implant. However, she is prepared to remove the implant, give me a couple months to heal and then go back in and replace the implant. I am completely comfortable and confident with the decisions she is making.
