Starting to feel a lot more normal now...not needing pain meds anymore part from a couple of days late afternoon probably after doing a bit to much! I think I've felt every emotion possible in the last 4 weeks from caged animal syndrome from being stuck on couch and unable to do basic tasks too elation that I've finally made it to the flat side my but I'm starting to feel like I'm turning a corner! I've been having twice weekly wound checks with my fabulous plastics nurse anglea who I think has been extra accommodating once I voiced my anxiety over infection and the fact I'm somewhat squeamish! She's been a superstar I had a 3in long sticky wet patch along incision line for a day or two around 2weeks post op that was down to 1/2in after 2 days with the silicone foam patch she put on and last Thursday she said it looked good enough for me to leave it a week before I see her again! Delighted is an understatement...keep having to pinch myself as I can't quite believe it's been such a smooth recovery so far...fingers crossed this afternoon swell hell starts to ease soon as I'm dying to start going on my evening walks...happy healing X X

Looking good... I'm 3 weeks and 3 days but my BB doesn't look as decent as yours, I hate touching it and cleaning it is the worst... I do a half Beep job on it because I can't stand the way it feels .. What is a plastic nurse, I want one lol

Shes a Specialist nurse here in uk who deals full time with my surgeons patients either on ward doing rounds with him or in dressings clinic for wound care shes amazing for reassurance when ur havin a wobble or thinking why oh why did I do this to myself!?! My BB was very red at 1 week out so ps advised and extra week of antibiotics and now it looks amazing still can't get my head round the fact it's mind very happy with how smoothly it's gone tbh ..happy healing Jackie gl with ur Bb xx

So here we are day 1 post op
Well I made it to the flat side after lots of tears and turmoil I've got here moved around today catheter out drains only got 10 mls each so hopefully out 1st thing and home in the afternoon....feel surprisingly well hospital have kept up with meds and only real pain as such is in my back from laying in scoop position!! Few before pics are up and my markings from tues morning along with one of Cg as I haven't seen the finished result yet excited but scared at the same time surgeon says it went really well and he thinks I will be very pleased with the results as he was able to avoid vertical scar says I should be very pleased when I see it roll on next week
