Smile Design- Veneers by Dr Andres Garcia Cali Colombia
I was scheduled for my design appt for Friday, August 23. The doctor arrived on time and new that he would have to remove prior upper veneers and that my teeth had been previously shaved down prior to the old veneers. After paying the doctor who was pleasant and soft spoken I reiterated my prior conversation with his online assistant to ensure his understanding of my need to have numbing due to my low tolerance to dental pain and high sensitivity due to teeth being already shaved down. We communicated in Spanish, my first language and the doctor understood and agreed. But of course, he tried to work without numbing which I did not accept as I was immediately in pain and discomfort. During and throughout the process it seemed as if I had to ask for the anesthesia; it was almost like it was being rationed. Then, the doctor would work from one side of my mouth and the other as well not “realizing” that the numbing on one side would subside and require more if he worked in another side. He was always all over the place and had a hard time keeping tract because their were NUMEROUS interruptions from dental assistants, patients, clients, and other dentists that came in to ask questions, seek his assistance with other patients, or to SIMPLY borrow his supplies or borrow his own assistant Melissa. This was horrible and nerve wrecking. At one point, the doctor asked me if I needed a break and I agreed for a short break and he left the dental suite for 2.5 hours. I was done at this point asking him to return as he worked in other clients in the clinic and then went to lunch. The day 1 process of cleaning and removing old veneers lasted 8 hours when I was told no more that’s three the whole process should last.
Installation day came, day 2, 4 days later, the beers came back with one veneer short. I stead of 10 9 were returned from the lab. I heard the doctor arguing with his assistant about the veneer and thought that they would call the lab to But It never happened. My appointment began at 2:30 and didn’t end until 10 pm. The same high number of interruptions in his suite occurred again with the rationing of Supplies. I was overwhelmed and tired and at this point in my mind I thought that the missing veneer had been sought and been placed. The doctor of course never mentioned it. By the time I left, my whole bite was still off and the installed veneers that looked very nice in color, still required some minor tweaking. The doctor never used his own judgement for tweeks instead, he asked me to review and suggest instead of using his expertise to align my smile in a way consistent with what I had naturally. I was done at this point and all I wanted to do was leave. At one point I even broke down and cried because I was so overwhelmed with the interruptions, the lack of consistency, the poor attention to details, and the poor communication skills of the doctor. He worked and never explained the process of what he was doing as he worked.
If you are a fearful patient or require explanations to understand then stay away!!! This dr is way to occupied running his business during patients scheduled time.
