Corner lip lift - so far everything is healing perfectly 1 month post-op

WORTH IT
7 months post op and 3 or 4 CO2 treatments after. I’m still happy with the results on the shape of the lips but not with the scar. Although it’s definitely faded and not as indented, it’s far from not visible to people. Sucks to have to explain why they are there or see people glancing. Going for another CO2 treatment tomorrow. Hopefully can scars can get to the point of being completely flat. Not sure if maybe a bit of collagen or something g that stimulates collagen production injected to the area would help…

I want an revision corner lip lift with Dr. Mascaro is there any possible way you may send me more detailed photos somehow maybe from social media ? Because in this platform the pictures are kinda blurry ! Are you not happy with the scars on the edges of the mouth ? what about the scars on the pink part of lips ? Are they okay ? ❤️
Hi! Sorry, just saw this message. For some reason it does not appear below the post. I don´t really use much social media and have deleted the photos since then. I just posted a 2 year post-op update if you want to check it out. Hope you are happy with your results if you ended up doing it!
The scars on the pink part of lips are hardly visible. They don´t worry me at all.
Beautiful!
Am I too old for a lip lift with slight corners upturned? 65 yo thin top lip upper teeth don’t show and mouth has natural frown. I don’t like lip fillers.
Well your lips are immaculate other than those scars! Keep us posted if they improve. I came on here to try and find the price of this procedure with him, are you able to share?
Sorry, just saw your question. It´s been 2 years and I deleted the email with the quote... I think it was around the 4K mark.

Corner Lip Lift

Very happy with my corner lip lift by Dr. Mascaró!
I want to share some photos of my process because I did not find many out there when I was researching the procedure. Such a big difference! I got very self conscious with my kids always saying that I looked angry when I really was not and taking pictures of my resting b*^ch face.
It took a while to make the decision, mostly because I was scared of the scarring. I was afraid the type of lift that I needed required the dreaded joker incisions... and it did! Some lucky people can get away with incisions just at the corner but unfortunately I was not one of them.
Dr. Mascaro´s work is impeccable! It really does not get any better than than! However, for as pencil thin as the incisions are, they are pretty visible in person. Mainly because they are smack in the middle of your face! I thought makeup would completely cover them but it does not. The foundation, or whatever product you use, gets into the small indentation of the incision and shows it even more in my opinion. I tried using some thick primer to see if I could fill it in and then apply the foundation but it did not work out for me. After some research I found Dermaflage, which is a silicone based product used to create special effects in makeup for movies. I tried it with some reservation because some people said it was hard to apply but it was actually pretty easy for me and it works very well to fill in the scar with only a tiny spec of product is needed. I will be using it when going to the office or going out with people that don´t know I had this procedure done.
After a couple of months we will see if CO2 laser treatment is needed to fade the scar. So far, everything is healing perfectly. Apart from the scar, there are a few small bumps from the internal sutures that will take a couple of months to dissolve. It´s hard to tell they are there unless you touch them.

Hey! You should look into cosmetic tattooing such as lip blushing or scar camouflage. It can really do wonders!
Thank you so much for sharing! Your results look beautiful & I am contemplating this exact surgery. My surgeon is trying to dissuade me for the reasons you listed, visible scar. I can barely see yours & that’s bc I know where to look. Happy to hear & see that your results are so great!
Hi, thank you for the comment. I do like that my lips are not so sad/bitchy looking anymore. I do lament the scars though. They are so right in the middle of your face that it’s hard to miss them. While nobody except those who know I had the procedure, have commented on them, I do sometimes catch people looking. I had seen the same procedure done with sutures just at the corners, without extending into the commissure, which are virtually undetectable. The doctor told me that technique would extend my lips out and would not look good on me though.
I think CO2 will do wonders on the scars. You should def do it and see what happens. Good luck and update us!
Hi! Thank you for the comment. Yes, I’ve done 3 rounds of CO2 and they have definitely faded but they are still very visible, at least to me. My husband also notices them a lot… I have my fourth round this week (which have been included by the doctor as part of the surgery). I think I will also be trying some microneedling next. I wonder if the tiny punctures from the needles will help blend the scars. I’m still very happy with the overall result on the lip shape but not sure if the scars are worth it…
So it´s been almost two years now since the procedure and I wanted to give an update. I ended up having 4 or 5 CO2 treatments with Dr. Mascaro but I was still not happy with the results so I went to my dermatologist and I have done 3 more treatments since then. The one thing that she did extra was to apply Sculptra topically right after the CO2. In the last session a couple of months ago, she injected a bit of it into the scars and I think that made a noticeable difference. I can obviously still see them but nobody else notices (have not asked my husband because I know he will say that HE notices and that it was a worthless procedure).
Overall, I am still happy I did it because I have been able to diminish the scars quite a bit. However, I have spent a lot of money on these extra treatments and it has taken a long time to get to the point where I don´t feel self conscious about them. I wish I had not needed the scars going outwards like some other people that just have the scars around the lip line.
