WORTH IT$2,000
I got injected radiesse 3 times on my cheeks, one syringe each time, I have a little hole in my upper right cheek and I'm a runner so it seems I metabolize the product very fast. I finally tried voluma, 2 syringes, I can tell a subtle improvement, the little hole hasn't gone completely, I do feel my face looks better, kinda lifted, radiesse was giving me kind of a chubby cheek look and I'm actually very skinny. I think is very expensive but worth it, my doctor was a different doctor than the one that I used radiesse for and he was absolutely amazing and considerate.

Thanks for sharing on RealSelf.  How long would the Radiesse last for you before you needed more?  Let us know how long the Voluma lasts- hopefully longer.

hello Sweetli2000. sorry to hear you still got little needle holes. i read the little holes is permanent but keep us update it on it i might be wrong. You should look into something more permanent filler like "Silikon 1000" or fat transfer. Keep injecting fillers is not good for long term think of 5 years from now you would have 15 to 20 little holes.

Don't bother with fat. It doesn't last and it's not predictable. At least with filler - you know what you're getting and if you don't like it- it goes away.

I would agree with fat transfer thing, its very unpredictable. One side might look fuller than other side and it even might make you look like a chipmunk. Thats why always search for Doctors thats only from Top Schools, dont ever EVER let any no name school doctors do anything to you. And always search for Doctors that look good themselves.

I had both done also but one layered on top of the other...Radiesse to "build" a base and then Voluma to add more volume...Together in that order have given me great results! Lifted my marionette lines some and lifted some of the genetic jowl look I have...I am pleased!

i am confused as to the "hole" in your cheek that you refer to as others seem to be too -- is it FROM something you had done (aka the site of injection) or is it something else? You say you had fillers for the hole. Do you mean the cheek dents that some on here seem to get -- I think even doctors aren't sure what that is, perhaps the separation of fat layer from muscle or malar dents? That is, is it cheek sag, something caused by injection or made worse by it, or is it something you might need a lift rather than filler to fix? This seems to be a common problem that fillers do NOT address well enough and I wonder if doctors should not be advocating a filler for something that would be better addressed by something else.

Hi, I think is a malar dent, they have directly inject radiesse and voluma and although it works while it's swollen then it goes away... Also after I got Botox, it disappeared for a couple days then came back... I guess I just don't stress about it anymore...

I bet it's the swelling that makes it disappear, but you could do that with way cheaper ways like injecting with water! I hate them soo much. Radiesse has a thick substance (the alleged lasting stuff) mixed in with a carrier product to make it flow a bit, a less long substance like a bit of hylauronic acid. That is why the initial swelling is VERY short lasting, and then the bonelike substance that makes it so thick and caulk-like is supposed to kick in and form new collagen. Not sure if this occurs or not, really. So when they say it lasts up to a year (Radiesse that is) it is not necessarily true either, because the swelling you might like at first is gone in a very short time. I don't know if I explained it as well as my injector, so do ask yours. Voluma is different since it is like juvederm with way more of the factor that helps it last, to the Nth. I forget what she called it -- some kind of "factor." R factor? Something about it being more highly cross-linked, so it really acts quite differently than say, belotero. This means it lasts longer and gives more fill but I think it also means it is harder to remove, and is used differently (not undereye, for example.) But they basically lie when they say it lasts two years. Do you have any sinus issues, do you drink a lot of coffee, seem to be dehydrated at times and it gets worse, etc.? I am trying to get at what makes some people have worse ones besides low body fat and genetics. Do you think laser tightening would help?

Amen to the fat transfer comment. Painful and doesn't last.Too bad.

oh ok -- good to know there is yet another one who says this. A LOT of people say this it seems. There are 25 year olds getting fat transfer for whom it doesn't last, so I know it wouldn't on me!
