Officially 2 weeks post op!

I am officially 2 weeks post op. I think I'm pretty much over my initial slump of thinking I went too big. They actually aren't that ridiculous in clothing and I think I'm starting to like my body looks as a whole more than I did prior to the surgery. I will say I am having to learn to dress myself differently! Before surgery, I could get away with wearing more shapeless tops and dresses but now when I wear those things, my boobs cause them to flow off of my body and appear larger than I am. The trade off is I now look better in A-Line styles, I guess - my boobs make my waist look smaller.

I still feel like a tire a tad bit easier than before surgery, but overall my discomfort is pretty much concentrated around my incisions. Sometimes they just seem achey. Occasionally throughout the day my breasts will feel tight but nothing like earlier in my recovery. They are definitely softer than I anticipated them being two weeks post op.

I have been able to successful also on my side, although I won't say that is without some adjusting and initial discomfort. It's nice to be able to change up my position, though.

I'm looking forward to try running next week. I'm feeling kind of squishy and feel motivated to get my body in a nice shape to compliment my new boobs. (:

I've been addicted to reading reviews and seeing how fast girls, "drop and fluff," as it is referred to here. I can't wait to have more fullness and roundness on the bottom of my breasts.

One week down, approaching the end of week two

I had my "two week" appointment today. Doc said I was healing well. He said the left was more swollen but that overall, I didn't look too uneven.

He removed the blue strings, which I was scared about. I was afraid it would hurt. He clipped the end of each string and pulled it out with tweezers. It felt odd but not really painful which was a relief. He said I'm good to start sleeping on my side, so, we'll see how that feels the next couple of days. I really crave to sleep some other way other than on my back, if that even makes sense. He also showed me how to do the massages so I've been doing those.

I'm pretty impressed with how fast I've been able to resume normal day-to-day activities. I was driving by Day 3. I'd say by Day 7 is when I no longer felt pain laying flat on my back and getting up in the morning wasn't really an issue. I haven't been really taking any acetaminophen or anything, probably since Day 7 as well. My range of motion has been pretty solid since Day 6 and 7 as well. Some movements I still take slow, like when dressing myself or reaching, but overall, I feel decent. My breasts still feel odd and sometimes they're tight or sore, but it's not a constant thing. I can't decide if I feel better wearing a bra or going braless. I am allowed to do either. I try to mix it up.

The bottom half of my breasts are still numb. My incisions are sore and I started putting ScarGuard MD on them, as per my doctor's instructions. I ordered it off Amazon for $25. It's a clear bottle with a little brush. You basically paint the silicone mixture on your incisions. It reminds me of nail polish.

I think more than anything I'm just ready for my breasts to feel like mine again. Because they're still numb and sore and new, they don't really feel like mine. I want them to drop into their places and be squishy and be able to shop for nice bras and move on with my life. My next appointment is a month from now. I look forward to the changes that will happen between now and then.

Day 3 & 4 post op

Every day is easier. My breasts still feel numb and swollen but the pain is definitely manageable and sliding away from "pain" and closer to "discomfort."

Yesterday I was a little nervous about my incisions because some bruising appeared that wasn't there initially, but I called the doctor's office and he said it was normal to have delayed bruising appear 3-5 days post op. He also said that swelling peaks 3-5 days. So that was comforting to hear.

Today was the first day I noticed a difference in healing between the left and right breast. My left breast feels less swollen and hard on top compared to my right. I wonder if it'll drop first.

I finding taking pictures of them difficult because they look different depending how my arms are and where I position the camera. They still seem very large and foreign to me but I'm hoping as they settle my mind will adjust as well.

I've been able to drive myself short distances and it doesn't feel too hard. I'm just careful not to make any jerking motions.
