Doing better!

WORTH IT$8,500
Hey! I’ve been off my posting game with back to school and prepping to return to work. Short version, I’m on meds to support my mental health. I started at the wound clinic last week, I don’t need a wound vac!!! I’m using an anti microbial gel and packing. I’m one week there has been closure and less depth, the nurse practitioner was so excited when she walked in today I go back in two weeks and will start collagen treatments to support healthy tissue growth.

Getting worse...
NikiBeeAugust 5, 2019
Short version...last visit PS determined we would start preparing for wound therapy this coming week. My appointment is scheduled with the wound clinic and I go see PS tomorrow. The top layer of skin is now sliding off and it’s deeper than I thought. The lower wound is about the same, no changes still packing it.

Thank you, it's definitely a journey. Complications can happen at any turn, some heal with without incident and then there's me.

Please don't let this deter you, complications happen and they suck. I had some circulation issues that caused this. Nothing the doctor did or I could have done different. He and his entire office has been great through all of this, I have his personal cell and the nurse texts me after hours if I send her pics that may concern me. Go for it! I'm staying positive (as much as I can) although most days I want to CRY! I haven't suffered any infections and that's a blessing in itself! You have to be happy about your body when you look at yourself naked and soon I will look the way I feel inside...I'm super fine in my head!

Does this hurt?? Looks really really painful. Hopefully, the wound Dr. will help get this under control. Very best thoughts for your recovery>

I'm still in recovery so I'm still sore here and there. The wound itself doesn't hurt, when he debrided (sp) the wound I didn't feel a thing. It definitely did a number on my nerves. Thank you so much for your kind words.

I really hope you go to the emergency room. If you don’t have an infection you are at very high risk to get one. Please please go to the hospital!

Still a work in progress

Dr. Davoudi and Toni have been very attentive. He was a offended when my husband asked for a second opinion, he asked that we allow him to care for me. He reassured me that he takes care of his patients as if they were his family. I believe him. I’m going weekly to check on progress, it’s going to look worse before it looks better. I’m only 3 weeks out from my SX date, but I’m nervous because of all this. I have to allow my body to do what it’s intended to do and that’s heal itself. If that doesn’t happen then I will explore wound care.

I would get a second opinion asap. It looks really seriously infected. In my humble opinion, I would get to a hospital to get that checked out and maybe get on serious antibiotics. I'm not a doctor but know that that does not look not right. Good luck!
