Doing better!
Hey! I’ve been off my posting game with back to school and prepping to return to work. Short version, I’m on meds to support my mental health. I started at the wound clinic last week, I don’t need a wound vac!!! I’m using an anti microbial gel and packing. I’m one week there has been closure and less depth, the nurse practitioner was so excited when she walked in today I go back in two weeks and will start collagen treatments to support healthy tissue growth.
Getting worse...
Short version...last visit PS determined we would start preparing for wound therapy this coming week. My appointment is scheduled with the wound clinic and I go see PS tomorrow. The top layer of skin is now sliding off and it’s deeper than I thought. The lower wound is about the same, no changes still packing it.
Still a work in progress
Dr. Davoudi and Toni have been very attentive. He was a offended when my husband asked for a second opinion, he asked that we allow him to care for me. He reassured me that he takes care of his patients as if they were his family. I believe him. I’m going weekly to check on progress, it’s going to look worse before it looks better. I’m only 3 weeks out from my SX date, but I’m nervous because of all this. I have to allow my body to do what it’s intended to do and that’s heal itself. If that doesn’t happen then I will explore wound care.
