Hello! I've been stalking this site for several months and have finally decided on the surgeon and the procedures I feel are right for me.
I'm 45 years old and underwent lapband surgery in 2008. I've lost 90 lbs and maintained that weight loss through diet and exercise. I also had a breast reduction/lift about 13 years ago. Unfortunately, I'm left with sagging stomach skin that can only be corrected with surgery and I've lost almost all the volume in my breasts. I'm an avid runner and spend about 3 days a week in the gym. It's frustrating to know that I have good muscle tone but no definition because of the fat and skin.
I've decided to have a tummy tuck, saline implants and lipo to the waist, love handles and saddle bags. I will be traveling from Virginia to Columbus, GA. I chose Dr Cochran because of the reviews on this site, the incision placement, the natural look to the belly button and the price.
I'm a little apprehensive about local with IV sedation vs general anesthesia. I would love to hear your experiences as well as any advice from those of you that have traveled for your procedures.

I was scheduled with Dr Cochran who passed away unexpectedly last month. I'm not as comfortable with the reviews from Dr P as I was Dr C but I've decided to commit to him. There are some good, some bad and some in between but there will always be the people that never review until they have a complaint.
I can keep the same dates and he's honoring the quote as well. In addition to the TT, Lipo and breast augmentation Dr P is going to correct the size and alignment of my nipples and areola.
I'm 3 months out and already nervous!

Good luck! I was also scheduled with Dr. C (rest his soul). I'm not scheduled with Dr. Song which is actually closer to me. I will be following your review though.

I like his work too. I sent a request for a consult with another Dr in his firm but he wasn't interested since I'm so far away.

Thanks! I'm 7 hours from Dr P. However, my quote was several thousand less than doctors in my area. Plus, I travel for work so I have enough hotel points to cover my lodging for the week.

Thanks! I'm actually from Virginia so I definitely understand. It's crazy how the prices difference can almost double depending on the surgeon and the area.

Yes I saw that on your profile. I live in SC now, but I'm from VA. I've researched that area too bc I figured I could stay with my mom and she could watch the kids, but the prices were much more than down south in Georgia. I'm less than 30 min from the Georgia border.

I have a daughter near Winston Salem so I've looked there too. I live and work in the southwest region and had actually scheduled with another doctor. I was still going to have to travel, he didn't do any Lipo and it was going to be 11,000. I just saw another recent bad report for Dr P. I'm just so undecided. I commit one day, then think I've made the wrong choice.

I completely understand. I mean we are putting our bodies and life in someone else's hands. Since it is cosmetic surgery, you want them to provide our with what you want especially because you are paying thousands of dollars for this. It took me so long to commit to Dr. C, but God had another plan. You just have to make the best decision you can. Good luck!

Hi! Iv've chose Dr. P for my Lipo, TT, and BBL! My surgery is in January. I live in NC so I too will be staying in GA for probably 5 days. I am also alittle concerned about the IV sedation rather than General. Please keep me up to date with your progress and good luck!!!!

I plan to try to update as often as possible. It seems so many update for the first few days and then nothing else. I want to see results after all the healing, swelling, etc. Good luck with everything!

We are staying at Home2 Suites. They rooms have a kitchen so we won't have to worry about getting out too much. I booked a handicap accessible room and I have reserved Sunday through Saturday. My pre-op is Monday and surgery is Tuesday. I will play it by ear in when we come home. I'm 7 hours away so the plan is to drive half way after my post op appointment and the rest of the way the next day. I hope my pain will be well controlled by day four or five. I'm down to 6 weeks pre-op and getting sooooo nervous.

You will do great !!!! Excited for for!!! You have got to give me every little detail about your experience!! I'm a nurse and we are the wort patients! I live at the beach in NC which is about 7 hours away. Will be praying for you! You will do just fine. Keep me posted!

Thank You! There are some Facebook groups that are extremely helpful. There's almost constant activity so lots of good advice and support. "Tummy tuck support group and more" is the name of one

I'm that I'm counting down days instead of weeks and months, I'm very nervous! Excited but scared too. I hope the pain will be manageable. Did you do Exparel?

No. I ordered it but because of my date I didn’t get it in on time! My dr did numb me up really well. It lasted 24 hours I am feeling pretty good today so far. I am getting myself up and walking as much as possible but not over doing it.
Don’t be nervous... The end result is worth the few days of pain.

Made it to Columbus today. I'm settled in to the hotel and ready for pre-op tomorrow. I'm still a little nervous but excited too.
