Hello everyone. I've been meaning to sit down for a while and write this, but time just kept getting away from me. I'm not sure when this will be posted but it's currently the night before my surgery and I'm PUMPED! I'll give you guys some backstory...
As I stated, I'm now a 34DDD and growing (and one breast is slightly larger than the other) and I can't remember a time my breasts were ever perky. I initially started doing my research in high school when I was seriously interested in getting a lift. Though, college distracted me from planning for it I never stopped wanting one especially as my breasts grew. After graduating, I started planning again but this time for a reduction as I was positive a lift would not give me the results I wanted.
I spent months researching surgeons, reading RealSelf reviews, asking questions, and even going to a few consults before I finally decided on Dr. Heck. His team assisted me throughout the insurance approval stuff and the day I got my letter of approval from my insurance (March 6th) I called to book my surgery for March 28th.
I've spent the last week and a half buying everything I need: button up shirts, hoodies, sweats, additional pillows, surgical bras, compression socks, maxi pads, scar sheets, a thermometer etc. (my mom thinks I'm over prepared lol, but I say there's no such thing). I've also been taking vitamin c, zinc, bromelain, and arnica for about a week. I just sat down and had some miralax, to help get it in my system.
I think I'm all set. I'm going to pack my bag for surgery (I'll be staying in a hotel overnight) and will be back to update you all shortly. Wish me luck <3

Day of surgery - Anesthesia is not my friend
queenbbl22March 29, 2018
Finally on the lighter side!!
Yesterday my mom and I woke up drove to the surgery center, I had a check in time of 10:30am with a surgery time of 12pm. We did all the check in stuff & then they called me back to do a pregnancy test which is required before surgery. Dr. Heck's nurse Kelly helped me throughout all of this initial check-in and stuff, she gave me some instructions and then left me to get dressed in just the gown and socks and put my hair up in the surgical bonnet.
After that, she gave me an IV and they called my mom back to come sit with me. I talked with two of the anesthesiologist and warned them that anesthesia because it always makes me extremely nauseous. I have a sensitive stomach in general, doesn't take much to get me nauseous. I get nauseous when I'm stressed and I have pretty bad motion sickness. To combat this, the placed a motion sickness patch behind my ear and told me they would use three different medicines in the IV to combat the nausea. Despite her warning me not to touch the patch (it has medicine similar to benedryl on it and if you touch it & then touch your eye it can dilate your eye) I kept forgetting it was there and accidentally touching it so my mom had to keep giving me hand sanitizer lol.
Dr. Heck finally came in and introduced himself. He was very nice. He did his markup on me and asked me what size I'd like to go down to. I told him I wanted to be a C. He warned me that of course he could not promise me a certain size, but would I rather be a small C or a large C. I told him a large C. I've had large breasts my entire life, I was scared that if I want too small I wouldn't feel like myself or be happy with the results.
Then it was the waiting game. I had to admit that I was very sleepy (not sure if it was the patch making me sleepy, as they said it would, or if I was just sleep-deprived lol). Finally they came in got me a few minutes after 12pm and I said my goodbyes to my mom and promised to her later.
The last thing I remember was anesthesiologists asking me questions about my work and placing a mask over my face... I kid you not I was out like a light.
I woke up in recovery, completely out of it. The anesthesia would not let me wake up. The nurse was trying to get me to talk to her, thought I don't remember what the conversation consisted of. I kept asking them to go get my mom which they eventually did. Then my mom and the nurse were trying to help me get changed and stuff so they could discharge me. It was very hard to open my eyes because my eyes and my head felt so heavy. My mom was trying to get me to drink gatorade and eat crackers but my stomach felt so queasy , I didn't want it. I kept crying and getting frustrated because I just wanted to wake up but I couldn't. They finally got me in a wheelchair and rolled me outside. The cool fresh air helped but not much. I still felt asleep.
Finally my mom and I made it to the lodging center/hotel room that the surgery center paid for for us. I immediately stripped down and fell into a chair to go to sleep. The next few hours are fuzzy for me but they were hell. I was basically in and out sleep for the rest of the night. My energy was very low, and I didn't really feel like I was in any pain. Just drowsy and nauseous.
My mom kept trying to get me drink gatorade and water or eat crackers and soup, it hurt trying to chew and eventually I threw it all up. We called the surgery center but they were having trouble getting me in contact with an on-call doctor. The pain meds they gave me were wearing off, but since I couldn't eat anything I couldn't take anymore and there was a chance that I would throw them up anyway. So I was trying my best to power through. I wasn't really in a lot of pain, my breasts just felt swollen and tight. In total, I threw up about three times before they finally called us back and connected my mom with Dr. Heck. He told her that I was similar to him and that for us anesthesia takes 12-24 hours to get out of our system. He instructed me to take the promethazine to assist with my nausea.
Once I took the promethazine, I was asleep within the next hour. When I woke up in the middle of the night to pee I felt A LOT better. The nausea seemed to be gone and I felt like I'd be able to eat in the morning. I'll be back later to do my Post-Op Day 1 update.

Forgot to add these... Doctor doesn't use drains, just dissolvable stitches and gauze. I was surprised that no blood seemed to have leak through the white bra.
