My procedure was done on June 5th, 2018 at Clear Choice in Columbia, Maryland. I had all my teeth pulled on top and bottom and received a full set of upper and lower all-in-four implants. Before deciding to go with Clear Choice I met with Heather Carter. She is so sweet and tries to answer all of your questions and do anything she can for you. She really is the one that comvinced me to go along with Clear Choice....Everything on the day of surgery went really well. Everyone was extremely nice. I did have one nurse after surgery that was very rude, unfriendly, and uncompassionate. My day would have been perfect if it wasn't for her. But everyone else was super nice and so caring to your needs. They had a nice room for you to recover in and for your loved one to stay during your surgery. The surgeon did an amazing job. I am currently on day 3. Day 1 and day 2 wasn't too bad. The 1st day my whole face was numb and swollen and my mouth was still bleeding. I had no pain but i was just uncomfortable because of all that and the fact that i couldn't talk. Day 2 the numbing went away which helped a lot and I finally could speak. But i was still really swollen. Day 3 i woke up and my face was 3 times more swollen than it was on day 2. It was awful. It looks like i may have a black eye tomorrow. I also think i look like a fat faced chipmunk which really isn't cute...lol. I had to leave out the house once but wore a germ mask to cover my face so not to scare anyone. But all 3 days so far not any major pain at all. Barely none. Which is amazing! So, tomorrow will be day 4 and i hope that the swelling will have subsided some. Fingers crossed!! I will try and make an update throughout the next few days. I do feel like my teeth aren't like i imagined them to be. I'm not sure if its just cuz i can't tell yet because of the swelling but to me the size or shape isn't right. I also would like them a little whiter. I'm hoping i can have that changed before my permanents are placed. Well, thats my experience thus far. As of right now i highly recommend Clear Choice Columbia, Md. But i will continue to update my experience and review.

My surgeon was Dr. McIver. He did an excellent job at my surgery. He is very soft-spoken and came in to explain the surgery to my mother and I prior to surgery. He made sure to call me the evening after my surgery to check up on me which was nice. I also have Dr. Paik. He is very nice too. I haven't worked a lot with him but i know i will be seeing him more as I tweak my smile before my permanents come in. I have heard he is amazing with gettimg your perfect smile just as you like it.

Hi, hope things are getting a little better. I had swelling for about 2 weeks and a lot of bruising. We all heal differently so it's hard to say how long the swelling will last. I'm 6 months out now and working on getting my permanents. Good luck with everything!

I'm glad to hear you had swelling for 2 weeks. I'm on day 7 and still a little swelling and pain so i guess that's ok. I can't wait for my 2 weeks visit so i can put my mind at ease that everything is ok. You say you are 6 months in now so how do you like them so far? Are you glad you went through it? Are you finally used to them and do they feel normal in your mouth now? Congrats, btw!

I'm very happy I decided to do this instead of Dentures. When they took them out for the first time a couple of months ago and I could feel my face and upper lip just sink in to my mouth I cried knowing I had made the right decision. If I was in my 70's or 80's I may have done things differently but I'm only in my 40's and have never been without teeth. The temporaries are much heavier in my mouth and bigger according to my dentist but yes, I am use to them now and can't wait to get my permanents. I haven't been happy with the look of my temporaries so I'm making sure I LOVE my finals. Hang in there it gets better in time especially the eating part. I lost some weight at first and I put it right back on once they said I could eat softer/firmer food...lol I'm actually eating pretty much everything now even with the temporaries still in with no troubles. My final CT scan showed I have healed great and have already starting developing bone around the implants!

I think I'm going to be happy once everything is said and done. I'm glad you're happy with everything. There isn't anything better than having a beautiful set of teeth!! Let me know how your permanent are when you get them!

I did the same thing you did... hid my mouth with a mask for the first few days! It works great and allows you to get out of the house without scaring anyone! I'm so glad you improved quickly!

I was glad i had it to cover my scary look but then i was thinking oh goodness these people probably think I have some disease or I'm contagious with something ....lol

How ru doing today?....6/30/18....I'm very nervous about choosing this option but things are not looking good and don't know if dentures will be acceptable as Clear Choice.

Hope ur well and thanks for your feedback

So far I'm happy with them. I still have a couple things that need work but I still have my temporaries so I think once everything is tweaked and i get the permanents in I'll feel even more happy with them. And they will do eveything to make sure they are perfect for you and fix whatever they need to fix so you are comfortable with them. As far as the procedure it wasn't too bad. Of course, you don't feel anything till you wake up but its just mainly the first 5-6 days that are uncomfortable. You do get a lot of food under the bridges which is a pain and you can't take them out like dentures to get the food out but I'm hoping once i get the permanents in it won't be as bad. It does feel good to have a full set of nice loooking teeth in your mouth. If you have any other questions feel free to ask away. . Have a great day!

Day 4 my face was really swollen but not much pain. Day 5 my face is still swollen but this time its only real swollen on my left side of my face. My right side is almost 100% better.. on day 5 i also started to have this nasty taste in my mouth. I first i thought it was blood but i looked and i didn't see any blood in my mouth so i don't know what it could be. It also kinda feels like there's air pressure in the roof of my mouth and behind my nose on the left side. . Day 6.still same thing. Still nasty taste and weird pressure. my left side is still a little swollen and i still have some pain on and off throughout the day and an occassional headache. Day 7 is pretty much the same as day 6. I'm hoping that everything is ok. I thought by day 7 the swelling and pain would be gone. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better. Has anyone else experienced a nasty taste in their mouth or weird air pressure on top of mouth and through the nasal passage?

Maybe it is just something caught up in the temps? Are you using the waterpik much?
I found that I could also rush water into my mouth from the shower and clean it out real good. I used a lot of salt water rinses the first month, too.
I cant recall when I started using the waterpik, but once I started, I used it 5-10 times a day, lol.

I think they will be giving me the waterpik on my 2 week post-op appointment. I've just been brushing a lot and using the mouthwash they gave me a lot. I'll try the shower thing as you suggested and see if that helps.

Day 8-9 was such an improvement!!! The swelling is pretty much gone now!! I'm not really feeling that pressure anymore but still a liitle bit of the nasty taste in my mouth. I am having problems with my mouth clenching. Its really annoying and gives me really bad headaches. Anyone else had this issue? Hope it doesn't last forever!!

My mother-in-law had the surgery done last week. She says there is a plastic plate on the roof of her mouth. I watched them put the implant in and didn't see anything that resembled that. Did you have that feeling when you first got them?
