I've finally put my thoughts/wishes to action. Booked my flights and date for surgery today. I'm nervous and excited. However I'm confident with my choice of surgeon. I went with Dr. Rafael Gomez , mostly for the years of experience he has and the positive reviews from all the ladies on this site. He was prompt and informative in getting back to me. His assistant Lillian seems like a gem. She's so personable on the phone and helpful. Knowing that once I arrive in Bogota I'll be in capable hands; relieves my worries. Especially since I don't speak Spanish. I'll keep you gals updated on my experience with this road to my "chrysalis ".

Can't wait to see your post-op pics! I too am dreading posting my Before photos but like you, I feel it would be wrong not too. Because the ladies have given so much of themselves and their photos have helped me so much I feel it would be selfish as you said not to post my own and pay it forward to the community. Seriously considering DR. GOMEZ. Good luck with your SX!

Thank you! It's approaching quickly. I've been asking Lillian if I needed to bring anything with me as in lipo foam, boards and such and she's assured me that we can get everything there. They provide a faja and compression stockings but she recommends also buying a couple more , in smaller sizes. I'm told I'll have an assistant along with me when I do go out to purchase things. I'll definitely post my whole journey. I'm excited and nervous. I know it's major surgery and there will be pain. I'm just praying its not too unbearably painful. I'm kind of a wimp. ☹️️

I'm definitely a whimp. I hear for some reason they don't give you more than Tylenol in Colombia for post-op pain management. So I'm definitely going to have to have my pain management doctor State side give me a RX for Percocet, at least. I currently take Tylenol3/Codeine for pain management, 3 a day. So Tylenol will do nothing for me after surgery. I'm going to try and ween myself of pre-surgery so I don't have to get a very high dosage of Percocet. But I'll definitely be getting something good and strong state side.

I'm really excited and looking forward to your journey. If you can have three children I think you can definitely handle the pain dont worry :) Plus God's got you so everything would be fine and Dr.Gomez is an AMAZING surgeon. I'm going to him in May 2017 hopefully.

Hi! Just spoke with Lillian, Dr Gomez's assistant. I'm told that I'll have an IV for the first 4 days that I'll have control on how much analgesics I will need. And the nurse who will be there with me, will help me with it. Afterwards I'll be given oral pain medications for my post op. And there is no additional fees for that. One of the many reasons I've chosen Dr Gomez.

I've done it! I'm post 8 days. Let me say one thing, it's probably the toughest thing I have ever endured. At least the first 3 days, afterwards it gets better but your not going to be doing any salsa dancing just yet. Unless it's in slow mo. Lol
I'm so pleased with my results. I'll be posting my photos on a later date. Dr. Gomez achieved the smaller waist and smooth sillioute I was hoping for. And the breast lift, well they're pretty perky . One thing I will say about Dr. Gomez, he's so kind and compassionate. He is also a conservative Dr. I felt I was safe and in the best of hands. Now regarding the aftercare. I couldn't imagine going thru what I've been thru without these amazing nurses and xhelpers. I'm so humbled on how comfortable and cared for they made me feel. Never once when I needed assistance that I ever felt I was a hindrance. They were so compassionate , encouraging; and believe me when I say I needed them, especially the days following the surgery. Life was made so easy with them by my side, from meals, to Drs appointments, to just purchasing things in a Spanish speaking country because I don't speak Spanish. Note , you will need google translate. Not everyone is fluent in English. However , with google translate it's not a problem. Another thing that I received were massages that released the fluids in you from the surgery. Believe me when I say , you'll be anticipating them because they make a world of difference. And Mary, she's the masseuse but she's also a nurse. I'm so grateful to be in her competent hands. Overall , I can't say enough good about my experience with DR Gomez, and his wonderful staff.
