52yrs Old , Time for the Girls to Get Remodeled

2 Year Anniversary!

WORTH IT$7,000
I haven’t been on in awhile but want to check back in!March years ago after a mastopexy and augmentation and 2 bilateral revisions and one revision in the left for a capsular contracted by a board certified plastic surgeon (who was suppose to be great) I decided it was time to go to Charleston (and do what I should have done the first time. ) and get Dr Ram Kalus to redo the augmentation! Not only did he give me the size I originally wanted (I had asked for 300-400 and I woke up from my first surgery with 225!) but they look fantastic 2 years later! Now just to be clear - I would have loved the smaller ones had I not had problems- but thank good goodness when you give Dr Kalus your wish pics” it is no longer a wish- it’s a dream come true! Don’t try to keep it close to home - go to wherever the best surgeon is! Hang in there if you have had a bad experience and when you can- get a surgeon who is willing to redo someone’s bad work to help you end up with what you wanted to begin with. It was a long tough (and at times very depressing) road.. But thanks to Dr Kalus and his fabulous staff- that is all behind me! I have lost weight over the years and my next surgery will be my thighs, and you can bet I will be going back to his office. Was suppose to have had it done this past fall but due to some financial set backs I have had to put it off awhile, but I will get it one if these days! Hang in there ladies!

Your revision looks great!!! I had my original BA in 1997, so it's past time for the girls to be redone, and I'm doing it soon. I'm going bigger and also changing from saline to silicone. My doctor only charges for anesthesia and the implants when you have another surgery...plus he did an excellent job 20 years ago, so I'm going back to him. I've also lost a lot of weight and want to have a thigh lift, so I'm trying to research that as well but can't find much for ladies like us. I think you and i are similar...I'm 50, 5'4", 115-120 pounds. Please post if you do more surgery! I enjoyed your review! Have a great day, Marti
Thanks! I also want to have a thigh lift. (Due to weight loss) I had hoped to have it by this summer - but some financial stuff kept me from doing it- but hopefully I will have it done before next spring! Let me knowbhow you do with yours . Definitely make sure the surgeon has done a lot of these. Not an area ya wanna have a lot of issues with!
Well...Thursday I went in for the consultation with the awesome PS that did my BA almost 21 years ago. We got everything set with my revision surgery and decided on Mentor HP Silicone 650cc (under the muscle, of course). After watching numerous videos about revision BA, I have almost talked myself into 700cc. Hopefully I'll be completely satisfied with my decision (650, or 700) one way or the other before surgery. I'm blessed to have a skilled surgeon! BUT he doesn't like to do THIGH LIFTS because he hates the hideous scars it leaves, even with a mini lift and groin incisions. So I'll save $$$ for traveling, and try to find a surgeon that specializes in thigh lifts. I'm bummed since I trust my surgeon whole-heartedly. In the meantime, if you find a good surgeon for the thigh lift, PLEASE contact me! Have a great Memorial Day and the rest of your week!
I know that’s was disappointing. But at least he was honest about it. Dr Kalus did my final surgery and is one of the best out there. He does like to do the thigh surgery either, but his partner Dr Craig Rowin does, and I was soooo impressed when I had my consult with him to see what he thought and what he could do. And because Dr Kalus has so much trust and respect for him that is who I will use when I can afford to get mine done. I’m not sure where you live - but I would definitely check into Dr Rowin if there is any way you can. Good luck with your search. Keep in touch would love to see how it goes since I do badly want to have my thighs done to. I’m heart broken I have to face this summer without it! I was looking forward to not having to worry about how ugly my thighs looked! Oh well! Shooting for next summer now! :(

2 mos Post -Op Left Side!/ ??

I am a little over 2 mos post op on my left side ( 3rd surg. On that one) overall doing good, but would love your feedback! I have some rippling on the side ( never had this before) and it has settled lower than the right side - so lost the "upper fullness " the right side has. ( that's what bothers me the most! ) I know I am a worrier, but I am afraid due to how low the implant settled that it will bottom out! ( I can feel it on the bottom more than the other side. I trying to ignore them for now - because I feel like the multiple surgeries haven't helped with healing , and I want them to heal. But I ann telling myself if down the road ( if no further complications ) I still don't like the "differences" I can have them replaced. ( this helps) hopefully I will just learn to love them 100%. Don't get me wrong - I still love the girls- even with their imperfections - but still wish for "better" results! Would appreciate your opinions!!! :)

You are still too early in the game to be judging your final result. Give yourself a couple more months before judgment day, OK? The right side will catch up, or should given more time. If not, you will have to resort to your surgeon for answers, but right now please do not get yourself emotional over this. You already have a beautiful result and likely more beautiful with the passage of time. Ignoring them for now isn't such a bad idea if you are a little upset with the appearance of your breasts. I personally do think you have a beautiful early result and cannot believe it looks so good after all you've been through. Patience, sweetie. Rippling is generally caused from inadequate tissue coverage. Many women have some degree of rippling. There are options if you are truly bothered by rippling, which I sent to you in a PM. Be patient, beauty, OK? Muahhhh...xoxoxo
Thanks girl! You know how much I value you opinion. Like I've told others - we are our worst critic . But I am getting there . The CC caught me so off guard and the healing was looking great. So I know that has s played a part in it. But I am resolved to watch, wait and see! :) thanks again xoxo:)

You're right...with the tan lines it's hard to see any differences. I like your approach though. If you're still feeling bothered by some slight imperfections, you can address them in the future. I really do like your results though!

Thanks. That means a lot! I have really been a lot better . I do love the girls - but I think concentrating too much, the CC caught me off guard and I think that plays into it a lot ! So thanks that really helps! :)
I too think they look really good. And you hit the nail on the head...we are our worse critic but then again we see the damned things at least a couple of time a day...I too will try and give them healing time and pray for the best being 57 I was kinda looking at other things later down the road. I would sure hate to spend anymore on my boobs so I'm hoping they will work themselves out!!!
I think that they are healing well! It's easy for us to notice a slight difference when we critique our own breasts but yours look very even now so I wouldn't worry. You look terrific!!! All that matters is if you are happy with them. Best of luck!! Xoxo

SO FAR SO GOOD!

I am now 1 mo post op! ( again! Lol!) so far everything is going well. I sure hope it stays that way. I have an apt with my PS on the 24th. I think he will be pleased. I think he is as worried as I am about something going wrong. He doesn't have a lot of patients who have complications - ( that's why he has such an awesome reputation ) He has been totally awesome getting me through all this. Hopefully this time will be the charm! Fingers crossed!

You look amazing! I'm dealing w having to have to have a 3rd surgery as well:( with my 1st revision I have tons of rippling and the right implant has bottomed out. :( so I'll have my 2nd revision in February. I hope I'm the same as you and 3rd time is the charm! But of corse you worry will there end up being even a 4th surgery. With all my rippling I wonder if I should go back to saline because I didn't have any rippling. Then I switched to silicone and my whole boob has rippling! Very stressful! But it's nice to see someone like you who everything has worked out for- gives me hope.
its jlal- any dates on your revision yet? I have a very mild ripple on the left side, but only in one spot. Won't touch that- if that is all it does - but all over - yeah - that would bother me. I laugh at how obsessed I am with how they look now- when they horrible for years!! Good ole boob greed!! Lol!
Keeping fingers crossed for you, too. You look so very beautiful. I'm so happy all is working well for you. Thank you for updating. xoxo
Thanks! How are you doing - how did your surgery go yesterday? What exactly did you have done? I sure hope your pain is better today.
Just want to stop by YOUR profile and wish you are very Happy Birthday. May all your dreams and wishes come true today. I wish you nothing but things all good! Muah...xoxo
Thanks! Things are definitely looking up!! :)
That is so good to hear, my friend. Please, please keep updating. Your result truly is remarkable. I'm in awe at how well of a job your surgeon did to repair your CC breast. Both breasts now match well. Simply amazing! Muah xoxo
LynnCC-I kinda jumped to the other profil -sorry)Yeah- Yeah my Dr promised me they would look good ( and even) and he kept his word as always! ( you and I are both lucky to have such great surgeons!) I am so crazy- I have already been researching the different proceedures for the removal of the excess skin I told u about earlier! And I know good and well it will be awhile before that can happen - but it gives me a goal to shoot for! I just want the legs to look good like the top! And having to have a certain length really limits a lot of outfits. My poor hubby! But I told him years ago I would be expensive when I got older! I was 17 when we got married! But he benefits to!! Lol! He saw an old picture of me - he was beside my mom an I was on the other side and he asked me who that was! . It was a slide show so the pic wasn't still very long ( bad part when I saw it earlier I didn't know who it was at first glance !! Holy cow!!' )So I kinda laughed and said it was ME! Like I said - not gonna grow old(er) gracefully - gonna do like wine - and improve with age. Well didn't mean to babble!!' Talk to you soon! ;) Have a great one! ;) xoxo!
Hi sweetie! I had to laugh when you said you told your husband you would be expensive as you age. That was a good one! I'm glad you at least have a goal to shoot for and options. You'll come to that day sooner than you think. Time flies by so quickly -- and please, babble all you want. I enjoy our conversations. Wow! You've been married since 17? Congratulations to you! That is quite an accomplishment given the high divorce rate. I know of only a handful of couples who have never been divorced. Any way, I just update my profile again. You all were right! My surgeon gave me nipples!!!! I now feel so complete and happy. I couldn't be happier!! Hope you are healing and feeling as well as you look! Muahh xoxoxo
(Jlal) I told u!!! I am so happy for you! You have to remember if your surgeon operates at a hospital - somewhere around 2000.00 ( give or take. A couple hundred ) goes to the Hosp . That's why they will do a couple things at one time to save us OR fees. An with you it makes since to do that while already working in the area ! That way it can all heal together! How. did u find out on a Sunday? ? Today is also my husbands birthday ( how crazy is that) some friends took us out - we had a blast - but this makes the evening even better! I knew that he had been a sweetie and fixed you up! ! And about how long I have been married- when my daughter was younger- she would tell us she was the only one she knew with both parents- that's sad! It hasn't all been easy -but we have made it! ( and he hasn't hired a hit man yet!! Lol! ) again- congratulations! I am SOOO happy you got the extra procedure done!! Have a great Monday! Sorry - I know I jump around in a conversation !! They pic on me about that! That's just me!! :) xoxo ( jlal)
You are such a comedian! Well, a big Happy Birthday to your husband! How cool is that to have each birthday side-by-side? I found out about my nipples because I had to remove the dressings to cleanse the areas. After cleansing, I put everything back on. It's a pain in the butt, because I hate looking at where all the sutures go, but what are you going to do? It was the trade-off for me. Sure, I could have left the loose skin, but I was not going to do that. I'd rather have additional scarring AND tight skin! I know you'll understand. Thank you for being so happy for me. You are such a sweetie pie! I hope you have a fabulous Moday as well! Talk soon...xoxoxo
Yep- I totally understand! I would have fixed the loose skin as well! And there are some great products for scars -that work great. I couldn't wait to get home and see my email. I saw I had one at work but we can't open our phones while working ( even those most sneak and do it anyway' -I would so get caught! ) I took a quick break to check it - but couldn't get it to open! I would have had to peak to ! Just remember they always look bad at first- then things start improving! My surgeon warned me at my first visit after my first surgery( lift and augmentation) that I would look like Frankenstein - and when he took off the bandages - he was right! Frankenstein would have thought I was one hot mama !! Lol! And now you can barely see the scars! And my PS used glue instead of stitches- so then I looked like a snake shedding its skin when the glue was coming off! But then POW perky boobs! It gets better! And we did not come this far to settle for almost perfect ! My next follow up is the 27th also. They called today to move my dot on the 26th - he is working in a breast cancer surgery that day. And I am totally ok with that. Wish I could tell the patient what wonderful hands she is in! She has had enough to worry about! Have a great one my friend! I totally love our chats - we have a lot in common! I am looking forward to our next one! :) xoxo
Your work place sounds a lot like where my sister works. She has to turn off her phone, though. If thy catch her turning it on for any reason, she get's in trouble, especially now that her youngest is 18. when my niece was younger, they allowed my sister to keep her phone on silence. They are very, very strict. Glad I don't have restrictions! Thank you for sharing comforting words with me regarding the scarring. I do hope it is not too ugly, but what can you do? I do have scarring tape I'll use after the sutures are removed. Keeping the incisions moist is also a good idea. Let me know how your follow-up goes on the 26th! I'm sure everything will turn out great! Hope to chat again soon...Have a GREAT week! xoxoxo
Always good to here from you my friend! Get you some palmers cocoa butter and vitamin e oil- it's in a pump container. I get mine at Walmart in the lotion section - get the one that says it is for scars - i used ( and still use it ) daily .after my revision I used it twice a day . One of my best friends works in the or where my PS does his surgerys - she told me about it . He says it is as good as the $$$$ stuff. He was amazed at how well I healed- and that's saying something with all the boobs he sees! Lol! I told him if anyone was nervous about the surgery I would be glad to show them my scars- he actually said he wouldn't want to show mine because they had done so well he wouldn't want someone to expect theirs to turn out like that! My hubby says it is partly do to the fact that I followed his instructions to the T and never missed my oiling!but good Lord - I wasn't going to spend money on them and not do my part! So now my PS and I have a joke about my billboard perfect boobs- after he referred to them as that after my first surgery. Thats how I know how well I'm doing since my other surgerys- I ask him if i am still billboard perfect! He knows how to make a girl feel good . I will def update you after my next apt- and you do the same- I can't wait to see what all he tells you! ;)xoxo
Hey girl! Was soooo excited to talk to this am! (No - I haven't lost it! -well maybe just a little ! Lol! -I know I talked with you last night !! BUT after I heard from you I got a message from Beth( she is a sweetheart!) I GOT MY RF BADGE! I am so excited- as much as this place has meant to me it's like an honor! I could not wait to tell you about it! We r now officially on the same team!! Well guess I better go get more coffee and get this day started !!! Lol! Have a great day my friend! :) xoxo
Congratuldationd getting your RealSelf Badge! Yay! So excited for you! Yep, we're definitely on the same team now. lol Again, congratulations...I'm off to get a coffee refill. Be right back to reply to other comment...xoxo
Same here my friend. It's always good to hear from you! I will definitely try the stuff you mentioned along with my silicone strips. Your doctor is spot on, though, what worked for you may not work for the next person. Our genetics and what goes into our bodies will dictate, and all those expensive scar treatments are just a waste of money. I fell for it, but never again. Expensive treatments do not work. Your body is going to tell you how well it can and cannot heal a scar regardless of what you use on the scar. Since you swear by the two creams, I'll have to try them. They're cheap and if they don't work on my scars, then they'll work as a nice moisturizer. Win, win, right?! :-)

Glad you will be updating soon. Cannot wait to see it. I will do the same. I probably won't see my surgeon again until early September. I called the office yesterday to switch my suture removal appoint from the 25th to the 27th. The staff member on the phone told me a nurse will be removing my stitches that day and my surgeon will follow-up with me about 2 weeks after the suture removal. All is good so far. Just taking things easy. Looking forward to your update; meanwhile, take care and have a nice Wednesday!! xoxo
Yeah - you are right about the expensive treatments - even my surgeon told me what I was using was as good as the expensive stuff.it is both in one - it's called Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E- Skin therapy oil 5.1 fl oz is right under 10.0o it does scars, stretch arks, dry damaged skin, etc . I use it where ever I need it! Lol! And even though it says oil, it does not leave u oily feeling - I hate that feeling! And it's in a pump type spray bottle. Stuff lasts awhile to. You r right - stuff does different in different folks. Sent you another message this am - about my RF badge - still floating over that!have a great evening my friend !! :) xoxo
Hi sweetie! I saw the comment you made about your RS badge! Again, congratulations! So happy for you! You are a true, supportive friend and deserve that badge! I know the products you speak of and will probably pick them up tomorrow while out running errands. I'm going to try everything! lol What's also important is good supply of blood flow to the area, and the breasts have a pretty ample flow of blood, which is going to help. The upper eyelids also have great supply of blood flow. I had an upper eyelid bleph many years ago and you cannot even tell I had it done. No scars whatsoever. I had a bleph early on due to childhood upper eyelid swelling, which eventually stretched the skin and left me with hooded eyelids. I couldn't even wear eyeliner as it would end up sitting practically on my eyebrows. lol To this day my bleph still looks great and one of the best decisions I ever made. Thanks again for all your help and suggestions. I'll pick up those two products tomorrow. I cannot use anything yet, but I like to shop ahead of time. Talk with you soon, and you have a nice evening as well! Muah xoxo
PS) Wanted to add I never, ever used any type of scar treatment on my upper eyelids, and they healed beautifully. I am scar-free! :-) :-)
You have a very pretty shape of your breast! And a lovely distance between them. I have this ugly pseudo synmastia which you're free from. No trace of rippling besides! Congratulations!
Thanks! I so appreciate that! I sometimes wish they were a tad closer together. With my first revision - my PS actually made it where they would be closer together - he had to "open" the area somehow-because they were naturally further apart. I like the shape ( but do still wish the were just a little bigger- not a lot! ) I do have one little area that ripples occasionally but it is not noticeable most of the time. And it is only on one side. Nothing worth a repair . :) I am hoping they will stay like this for a long time! ;)
don't wish they were closer, they sit in perfect proximity!
thanks! That means a lot! Its amazing how picky we become when the girls finally look good! I sometimes have to laugh when I look at my before pics and now how picky I have become! I remembered when all I wanted was them not to hang down to my knees!! Lol!
When you had your inital surgery, where all do you have incisions?
Is it under the breast and also around the nipple?
Yes- I think they call it the anchor incision. Under the breast (the fold) one up the center( under the nipple ) that contects to the one around the nipple . My PS uses a glue on the outside - so my scars are very minimal. Plus I used my vitamin E and cocoa butter oil faithfully, and with the last surgery on the left side , I have added scar strips ( to make the scars " match" but even with the revisions the scars look good. The results far out shine the scars! Are u getting ready to have surgery? :)
