Fit Body but Eyes Look Tired/worn - Colorado Springs, CO

I've been into fitness for years & try to stay healthy. My body is pretty "fit" & I get compliments all the time on "what great shape" I'm in...I'm 53...had heavy upper lids for years but became worse over past 2/3 years. "Borderline" regarding being medically covered but paid on my own. The lower area has had dark skin/circles for years which also became worse over time. I also had tried laser to help w darkened areas but I had a Very Bad experience.i won't go into details at Moment but it damaged my skin under eyes & ruined what little laxity I had...(dont ever do laser w sensitive skin or when older)!!! at My age you need all u can get ! Sooo....I decided to just get both upper & lower done. After much research, recommendations, Etc...I decided on Dr Ron Pelton. He made the decision , tho , to do 2 separate procedures due to my bad laser experience & the need for my skin as well as my emotions to heal. Had upper bleph w browpexy & lower bleph w skin pinch & some bags removed & some repositioned.... I had my uppers done mid June & I love that I can see my eyelids & my eyes!!!! Also, a big plus was that I had a constant dull pressure headache between my eyebrows on my forehead for years --I noticed right away--it's Gone!!!! What a wonderful extra!!! Anyway, will post pics once i can figure out...but I was one of the few who is a "bruiser"...therefore I bruised from top to bottom just from upper bleph & the lower wasn't as much but it was "black"!!!' I had lowers done August 12th...sadly. I need slight revision due to some excess skin in corners that somewhat give me a "sad" look vs bags! I love that the bags are gone but frustrated I have to have more skin pinched/cut in corners. Doctor assures me it's less invasive & similar to removing a wart...but I'm a bruiser & hate to have to "heal again"...this has been an emotional roller coaster...as I'm emotionally drained & want to be back to "normal "..like everyone!! My revision is sept 30th...so scared....even tho it's not a major procedure ....just want to be done & look like the "fit happy person" that's inside waiting to come out!!!!

A full year has passed since my final procedure ( 3 of 3) has been performed. I'm finally able to see results & feel good about fixing my "nightmare"( see original post from last year for details). I am so thankful to my surgeon for his patience, knowledge, expertise & caring. It truly does take patience & time & when you have extra issues along w normal eyelid surgery, it takes a toll. The tissues & skin are constantly healing , up to a year , just as they say. I totally recommend my oculofacial surgeon. I wish everyone luck w their procedures.

Would just like to say....it's been quite the roller coaster ride, because of MY Unique circumstances-(see original post, if needed), but I am so happy I went thru all of this. Yes, it was a long haul, and I had some other hurdles to deal with vs. the average blepharoplasty, but overall, I am pleased. I am Still, 15 months later-(from last/final procedure), seeing improvements around my eyes, skin. That may sound strange to some, but my body is still healing on the "inside" and every so often, I see more, small, subtle changes. I am so grateful to my oculofacial surgeon. Kudos to him and my dermatologist, for sticking with me, teaching me patience, etc....good luck to all, this is not the easiest procedure, but it can be worth it, no matter your circumstance.
