Yesterday marked one week since my procedure. My bruising, which was minimal, is clearing up nicely. The discomfort is not. The zingers and sharp pains seem to have abated, but my abs and flanks are still very sore. I had my first session of Smooth Shapes yesterday. It was manageable discomfort but still had me sweating by the end. I am still pretty swollen and today my GC seems a bit more snug than usual. I tried sleeping in just a compression tank top last night but it left me with seam marks down my sides and around my abdomen. Think I'll look for a Spanx brand tank tomorrow and see if that works better. Using the heating pad before bed - not sure if it's helping but it feels good.

I enjoy reading this as I'm going through the same thing myself. I'm one WK! I'm not sure what your doc says but mine says no heating pads. Just ice packs. Just heads up I don't want anything to get worse. :) Have a great day!

Swollen

KLiCk70
I started itching like crazy last night - which was suprising as some areas are still numb. I took a benadryl and went to bed early. Woke up feeling better but by noon I was extremely swollen. I feel like I'm going to rip the seams or of GC. My lower abdomen, public area and upper thighs feel enormous. I have been icing and taking ibuprofen but no relief yet. I have some pain (zingers as the doc calls them) when transitionin from sitting to standing or vice versa. I think today has been the worse day yet. Hoping I feel better tomorrow because it's back to work.

Hi... Just checking in. Hoping you were able to tolerate work. I'm still sore with numbness too and it's been 19 days. The zingers/burning sensations are not fun..... I've been trying so hard to massage and it's almost impossible. Hurts soooo much. Actually it's the burning that hurts the most. I tried to go for my lymphatic massage post procedure (which is part of the doctors post op treatment) last friday - but the pain was too intense so I'm scheduled again this week, Thursday it will be 3 weeks post op. I guess each day gets a little better. I would have thought my swelling would be less by now, but unfortunately it's not the case with me. I'm also still bruised on my inner knees and outer thighs:(-- hoping next week things will "look" and "feel" better. Overall I am not in crazy discomfort - it's just certain activity that becomes uncomfortable. Oh yeah .. Forgot to mention that My CG garment wasn't fitting anymore after week 1. My doctors office suggested I buy some spanks since the ones I have leave a horrible seam indentation ..... and the abdominal binder digs in to my hips....ugh. I ordered something online and am still on the hunt for something with compression that's more comfortable. Keeping you in my thoughts and hoping your day at work wasn't unbearable.

Lol she is in pain! We understand what she is saying! How long does the itching last? Hope you are feeling better!

The itching is normal and no fun!!! The swelling you can expect to last 4+ months. I was advised not to ice, but just wear compression garment. For non invasive procedure, there is a lot of discomfort and swelling. Start walking soon to control the swelling, eat right and made sure you massage to control the lumps and bumps. Hang in there.

Thanks for the advice. Have 1 week doc visit today and starting smooth shapes. Hope that helps with the numbness and hardening that I'm feeling.

Day 3

I woke up feeling really good and less sore. I showered & washed my CG and foolishly threw it in the dryer. Between the swelling that occurred without it on and some slight shrinkage of the garment my morning went down hill. It hurt like crazy to wear it so I ended up wetting it down again and then hanging it outside to dry. I iced my abs while waiting and then shimmied back into the thing. Feels a bit better now. Have spent most of the morning lounging around trying to get motivated to run errands. The swelling has definitely moved south and it's not pretty to look at. Bruising isn't horrible. Still numb in some spots and very tender in others. Still taking Tylenol & Arnica.

Continue to ice with frozen peas! everywhere!!!! Especially inner thighs:)! 30 minutes on 30 off:)! Around 10 days I started massaging with pure vitamin E and C oil and it totally took care of the numbness!
