Co2 laser- what you will look like

NikkiBeerli
WORTH IT
I did this several years ago, and I took at least one picture every day. Yes, our look like a god awful mess, but there is zero pain after the procedure. And I was extremely happy with the end results. The only reason I haven’t is the downtime-you won’t leave the house for at least 2 weeks- but you will have skin like a newborn baby after!
The procedure itself was tolerable but it definitely hurt when the laser was applied (which is very fat). I had a lot of texture issues on my chin, so Dr. Dawood did a second pass there, thus it took longer to heal.
I really liked the affect on my upper eyelids! No more creases!
Btw, the areas you think it will hurt (delicate areas) don’t, and the areas you expect to be more tolerant are not, lol.

Thank you for sharing your personal experience along with photos, so helpful for the community and let's them know what to expect. What are you best aftercare tips?

Mostly, don’t freak out! Yea it looks horrible, but it did not hurt afterward, not one tiny bit! And keep up with the ointment the doctor suggests and try really hard not to pick. That was by far the hardest thing for me.

Your results are beautiful. Thank you for all the pics, they really help. I want to do this, but I have panic disorder and I am afraid I would panic at seeing my face like that; weren’t you even a little frightened? I guess I’m just not very brave, lol. You really do look so great.

I’m a tough Cooke, but my friend, who had scheduled to go a few days later never went through with it. She is a huge baby- she hugged me goodbye when I went in! We (the office staff and I) were all cracking up!

It doesn’t work for everyone! I wish now, that I would have taken the money

It doesn’t work for everyone! I wish now, that I would have used that money and take my girls on a trip! Best advice to give and what I’ve been told, wear sunblock every day and even if you go out side.

Wow, you said it’s not painful but it LOOKS painful.... but at the same time, I feel little butterflies in my stomach (on your behalf, lol) for the beautiful baby-bottom smooth skin you were about to develop!

Thank you so so so much for sharing these photos and your experience details! So helpful!

That just scares me. I hope you were put on an antibiotic!

I don’t think so, but I did the whole face 7 years ago, so I don’t recall.

I started on antibiotics 1 day before my fractional CO2 laser in April of 2016.

Day 3

I forgot to mention the oozing. It is tapering off here. I wore a towel pinned around my neck like a bib to catch drips. I was also told to put aquafor all over my face, day and night, to keep it moist

I’ve had 2 Dot co2 laser treatments in the last 3.5 months and I didn’t get any results. My face got Red and that’s it.. I’ve spent $3200. for nothing, I went to a Plastic Surgeon in Cincinnati Ohio but the doctor doesn’t do the treatments, her nurse does.. I had no pain and when she called to check on me the day after I told her that I wasn’t experiencing anything and she said that some people don’t but I would still get the results. Well I feel really Stupid having another session done but I was told that sometimes a person needs more then one treatment.

That’s just not right.....

I wish my face would have done like yours!!!

Plastissurgery, from my understanding there are many varying degrees of the CO2 laser that the doctor can set. Most likely yours was not as strong or deep as NikkiBeerli. There are ablative and non ablative laser treatments. Ablative removes the top layer of skin and is more invasive. It usually requires two weeks of down time. Non ablative heats up the underlying skin so that the body will produce new collagen, usually requires several treatments. Recovery is generally mild and less time. I believe ablative is only done by a doctor.

It may vary state to state, but I believe an aesthetician, laser technician, or nurse can also perform the fully ablative.

Halo is half the price and downtown with with equivalent results, No pain or debridement, So much easier

Cost please and the state if you don't mind. I heard the same thing...the Halo was less expensive and less down time.

HALO is amazing. There are two different HALO treatments. HALO and HALO Pro. Halo Pro is the way to go. Two different fractionated laser wave lengths (ablative and non ablative) to target more superficial and deep. The provider can adjust settings to be a stronger or deeper treatment or not so strong depending on needs and downtime. In SF Bay Area about $3000.
