Dr Sid Gautam - Dermaskin Clinic Cardiff - the Best Clinic in Wales if Not the UK
I had under-eye filler placed by another practitioner and it looked awful. They kept telling me it would settled down but it didn't, it was a big blob under my eye that looked blue. I couldn't believe I'd paid money to fix an issue that really affected my confidence only to have it look a million times worse. I just wanted to go back to how it looked before at least I could deal with that!
I was looking on the internet and found Dermaskin Clinics, they had really good reviews so I asked around friends and friends of friends and it turns out quite a lot of people I knew had been there. I saw Dr Sid and he told me they had used too much filler and placed it too close to the surface. I also had a condition called festoons under my eye that make under-eye filler very difficult to perform well and what i needed was the filler removed and laser treatment to tighten the skin and help reduce the festoons.
He warned me i'd get swelling with the hyaluronidase to remove the filler and boy he wasn't kidding! It was crazy but he gave me some medicine to help. When the swelling went down i thought it looked even worse, the skin was pink and saggy, but he told me it would happen and it would look worse until id had the laser.
The laser wasn't the most pleasant experience but i had numbing cream out on first and i just crossed my fingers that Dr Sid knew what he was doing. I had 3 sessions of the Co2 laser with a 6 week space between each.
It was the longest 6 months of my life, i knew id done it to myself and at times i thought maybe I was just throwing my money away and looking worse, but now with hindsight I wouldn't change a thing. My eyes look better than they have ever looked. I have learned some valuable lessons about choosing practitioners very carefully and now I wouldn't go anywhere else. You may think that's weird but I know if i'd gone there first i wouldn't of believed him. I'd done my research and thought i knew best and filler is what i needed. If he'd told me i had this festoon thing and i needed laser i would've thought he was just trying to get more money out of me and gone elsewhere anyway.
I now know Dr Sid is the best clinician in Cardiff and I bet probably one of the best in the UK. The clinic is beautiful. The staff are just lovely. I've had some botox and filler with some of the other clinicians there as well and I cant fault them. Sometimes it takes seeing the worst to know the best!
