CO2 for scar resurfacing

ORIGINAL POST

CO2 for scar resurfacing

lisserb
I had a cyst/scar tissue lump removed/biopsied from my forehead in January 2018. The lump unfortunately immediately grew back, and rather than surgically removing it a second time, my dermatologist did two separate cortisone injections to break it up. That worked for the lump, but left an indented scar on my forehead. I had a second (cystic acne) scar near the surgical scar. I had both resurfaced with CO2 laser and the surgical scar injected with filler on July 5/18.
This is to document the healing process.

Are sure its a cyst? I had something like that for years. When I was at my daughters dermatologist. The doctor looked at me and said I need to see you for a biopsy. I was told by many for years it was a clasp pore or acne cyst. It was not. I had the Moh surgery and it's all gone.

It was a bump with mostly scar tissue (pathology tested) that I had removed months ago that resulted in the scar. I don’t have a picture before that showing here. What I just had done was to minimize the scar I had.

It wept quite a bit overnight, but isn’t burning or sore at all today. Washed with cetaphil in the shower and used a vinegar wash afterwards. I’ll be covering the spot today with a bandage my derm gave me and a hat because we’ll be outdoors in the sun all day.

I'm also interest in outcome. Do you like results?

It’s too early to tell yet if I’m going to be satisfied with the results. I’m happy with the process so far. I was actually expecting it to look much worse during the healing process than it does. I should have a full idea of what it will be like in the next 10 days or so.

No pain at all and no weeping overnight. There was some exudate on the bandages wore all day yesterday, but not much. I am continuing with cetaphil and a vinegar rinse and using fucidin ointment. I think the skin is already starting to slough off a bit.
