Still loving the improved breathing

Currently at the height of allergy season for me and I’ve never experienced such easy breathing through my nose in my life. As long the structural integrity of my nose stays sound over the years, I would say this was worth it on the septoplasty alone. I definitely miss my old nose (never thought the old imperfections would seem so charming in hindsight — classic grass is greener thinking), but I’m growing accustomed to the new one. It’s not bad, it’s not perfect. Still so glad for Dr. Duggar’s conservative approach and ENT background.

Breathing seems improved

Just a small update since this is something I’ve been noticing a lot: my breathing may been improved by the septoplasty part of the procedure.

I normally have terrible allergies in the summer where I can’t breathe well through my nose. I still have terrible summer allergies, but the breathing part is easier than it has been in previous years. I noticed this a couple months ago, but waited for allergy season to have it put to the test.

On initial examination, Dr. Dugar said my septum was pretty straight and that I didn’t need septoplasty. But I think he may have noticed a bit of deviation during the surgery, which he took care of. And I’m glad for that.

Old 5 month post-op photo

This photo compares the right and left side view. The left side view photo is mirrored. The right side has a subtle/gradual slope (left photo). The left side has a more prominent angle (mirrored, right photo), which I believe is the cause of the dent I see from the front view. It’s a subtle difference that creates a very obvious, unnatural dent across part of my nose.
