Mixed feelings about final result, but breathing is great!

I'm hopeful he can give me nice, subtle, symmetrical results

I had a good consult and follow-up with Dr. Dugar. He seems knowledgeable and passionate about the science and technicalities behind rhinoplasty. I had a few follow up questions that I sent via email and was pleasantly surprised when I received a phone call from Dr. Dugar shortly after. I'm hopeful he can give me nice, subtle, symmetrical results that will hold up in the long term. I've booked my surgery for mid November. I am very nervous, but we'll see how it goes!

Morphs

Sharing my morphs, left is before and right is goal-after. A disembodied nose doesn’t show too much, but it’s better than nothing. You can see I have a small bump that will be shaved down (with a strut to be inserted from a piece of my [luckily straight] septum). I also have a slightly bulbous tip that will be sutured (domal suturing). No sculpting of the tip because my skin is thin and my cartilage is hard. Thin skin is less forgiving, so I’m nervous about that and hope that everything is sutured and shaved smoothly. Ah nervous!

Pre-op

victoria2222
Surgery is tomorrow. Just had my pre-op. Dr. Dugar went over his approach for the procedure: he will be focusing on the upper cartilage (middle part of the nose) and leaving the tip alone (i.e. no domal suturing). He decided against modifying the tip due to the risk of a pinched, imbalanced look. I am very relieved by this, and think I prefer this more conservative approach. The tip of the nose seems like a danger zone and I’m happy to avoid the risks inherent to that area, particularly with my cartilage/skin situation. Still nervous, but looking forward to 8 days from now.
