Mixed feelings about final result, but breathing is great!

Still loving the improved breathing

$12,000
Currently at the height of allergy season for me and I’ve never experienced such easy breathing through my nose in my life. As long the structural integrity of my nose stays sound over the years, I would say this was worth it on the septoplasty alone. I definitely miss my old nose (never thought the old imperfections would seem so charming in hindsight — classic grass is greener thinking), but I’m growing accustomed to the new one. It’s not bad, it’s not perfect. Still so glad for Dr. Duggar’s conservative approach and ENT background.

Have things evened out more or does it still look crooked? How about the swelling in the tip? Still there?
Things have evened out a bit more. I think what side you sleep on affects the balance of the swelling. Definitely still a bit of swelling in the tip. It takes a while to go away.
How are things looking now?
Nose looks good, but a little bit of asymmetry. Its not super noticeable. When it bugs me I just use a bit of contour powder to add a little bit of shadow where in the spot that doesn't quite match. It works really well.
Did you need to follow up with another dr to get filler and things fixed?
Not yet. I've actually been using a dab of contour powder at the one little spot where I would expect more of a curve inward, and it works wonders. The top indentation part at the very top of my nose is something I'm just waiting on. Bone takes 1-3 years to fully heal over. So I'll give it time and see how it goes.
Hey, wondering if you have any updates now more time has passed!

Breathing seems improved

Just a small update since this is something I’ve been noticing a lot: my breathing may been improved by the septoplasty part of the procedure.

I normally have terrible allergies in the summer where I can’t breathe well through my nose. I still have terrible summer allergies, but the breathing part is easier than it has been in previous years. I noticed this a couple months ago, but waited for allergy season to have it put to the test.

On initial examination, Dr. Dugar said my septum was pretty straight and that I didn’t need septoplasty. But I think he may have noticed a bit of deviation during the surgery, which he took care of. And I’m glad for that.

Old 5 month post-op photo

This photo compares the right and left side view. The left side view photo is mirrored. The right side has a subtle/gradual slope (left photo). The left side has a more prominent angle (mirrored, right photo), which I believe is the cause of the dent I see from the front view. It’s a subtle difference that creates a very obvious, unnatural dent across part of my nose.

I think your nose looks amazing.
It is very nice natural look.
I am not even posting what I am experiencing.
