An Amazing Experience!
WORTH IT$34,600
My experience with Dr. Alter was fantastic and I can't recommend him and his team enough! From my first consultation to now just shy of 3-months post-op, everything has been super easy and communication is top notch. I got a clitoral hood reduction with a clitoropexy and labiaplasty, and the results are amazing. After doing some research, I knew the only person I wanted to have help me with this was Dr. Alter. I have no regrets, only that I should have done this sooner!
The surgery went by quickly! I was in the NYC offices; the anesthesiologist was very sweet and eased any nerves I had. I woke up a little tired and groggy after the surgery but felt no pain. I only took the prescribed pain meds for the first 24 hours, but I didn't really need it (over the counter would've been fine). The first 12-24 hours consisted of mostly sleeping and eating. On day 2 post-op, I took Tylenol for about 2 days and only because I was a little uncomfortable. Barely any pain for this type of surgery!
I will say, I had my mother help me for about 4-5 days post-op and this was incredibly helpful and eased my recovery. Most of my discomfort was from the clitoropexy, (I also had a drain for the first 48 hours because of this. It was as a bit annoying, but not painful). If you just do a labiaplasty and/or clitoral hood reduction, I think the recovery would be 10x easier. Once the drain was removed, I was a lot more comfortable and felt good. I believe I took my last Tylenol on day 3 and then was off pain killers.
Someone else who got a clitoropexy wrote about this in their review, so I will add it too: there is a "pulling" sensation in the pelvic area for about a week when laughing, coughing, sneezing, etc. It's not painful, just a bit odd and uncomfortable. Dr. Alter and team reassured me this was normal and would subside.
I'm so beyond happy I did this and went with Dr. Alter. If you follow the pre + post-op instructions given to you, everything will go by smoothly and look amazing! Very grateful and very happy!
