I started feeling discomfort since I was a teenager. Exercising, walking was very uncomfortable because of constant felling of pulling and rubbing. I couldn't wear tight jeans or leggings. I think I am ready for this surgery. Can't wait to get it done. I didn't tell a single person about this procedure. I will drive 2 hours each way by myself, which means I won't be able to take any relaxants.

I hope your surgery goes well tomorrow! I didn't tell anyone either (I'm about 5 months out from surgery). I didn't take a relaxant, as I was nervous as to how I would feel with that plus local anesthesia and I didn't want to take a taxi. I drove myself to and from surgery and took about 6 days off total, including surgery day. One word of advice is not to drink too much liquid before surgery. I had to stop and go to the bathroom in the middle of the surgery. I wish you luck tomorrow. I tend to get pretty nervous about things and thought I would be incredibly nervous the day of surgery. But, the day of I was very calm and was just so excited to finally get it done. I wish you the best and please keep us updated!

Thank you for all the support, because I really needed it. Surgery went well. Nurse and Doctor were really nice and supportive. The worst thing about whole procedure is local anesthesia, which took about a minute to inject. I was really nervous. Then all I felt was a little pressure and pulling while he was working on stitches. He did't prescribe painkillers until after surgery, which was a little unconvenient. After surgery I had to drive to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription. By that time anesthesia stated to wear off. It was really painful to walk around the store while they fill my prescription. I got some neosporin as well, but not sure if I can use it right away. I think I should wait until it starts healing, since oil traps bacteria on the wound.

Feeling lots of pain. Laying in bed trying not to move. Changing ice pads every hour. It is a little swollen. Hopefully pain will go away soon ????????

I felt the most pain on day one, after the local wore off. I declined prescription pain meds and opted for over the counter. I alternated Advil and Tylenol up until the morning after surgery and that was it. Day two was much better. I could manage the discomfort without needing to take more meds, thankfully. I stayed off my feet and kept icing everyday before I went back to work after six days and I feel that really helped me. Try to keep off your feet as much as you can. I felt that standing and sitting for the first couple of days really caused me to feel more pressure and discomfort. Per my docs orders, I used polysporin I think the day of surgery and for maybe a week to ten days after. I was nervous to put it directly on myself, so I would spread it on a pantyliner. I hope you can get some rest tonight. Congrats, you've got one big step done and the next big step is to rest and heal. Make sure you aren't leaving ice on constantly, as that's bad for you. Good luck and keep us updated!

Feeling much less pain. Almost no pain at all. Just a little discomfort and bleeding spots from stitches. Seems like swelling is going down. I've been using bacitracin ointment a few times a day. I am so excited and impatient to see the results, and it's only the second day. Time can't go quick enough.
I'm so glad that you decided to share your journey with us -- I wanted to wish you luck on your big day. I really wish you had someone there with you, especially since you're driving.
