62 Year Old in Need of a Lower Facelift
ORIGINAL POST
Have been researching this procedure for more than...
WORTH IT$10,000
Have been researching this procedure for more than 5 years & finally got to the point where I felt it HAD to be done. I was feeling so self conscious that it was affecting my everyday life. I wanted to write a review to help others who are struggling to make this decision & it helped so much being able to hear about others experiences & preparing for what to expect.

You look lovely. Truly excellent result. You must be very relieved and pleased! my turn in just 2 weeks. Its like the pre wedding jitters or something, various versions of cold feet, heart palpatations and lack of quality sleep. Complete confidence in my surgeon, but dread the 20 hour drive alone with all of the unknowns....
Do you know if yours was deep plane or smas? I am assuming deep plane BC of the number of hours in surgery
How did you react to the anaesthesia, pain pills, antibiotics. Are you on a special diet? Using silicone strips?/
Hope your pain is manageable.
Good job! And continued success in healing

It was a deep plane facelift. No problems with anesthesia & this was my first surgery & I have never
had stitches. No antibiotics (they were given in IV during surgery). He gave me Percocet for the pain but
I just took Tylenol (2 every 6 hrs) for about 10 days. It
wasn't really painful, just uncomfortable. I ate soft foods for about 10 days, it was hard to open my mouth or chew very much. For the scars I have been using Kelocote & the silicone tape. The tape I use behind my ears & the back of my head, it says on well & I have long hair so it isn't visible. Good luck to you! If you have faith in your surgeon, you shouldn't worry!
You will be glad you did it! :) I hope I answered all your questions...Thank you for your kind words!

So nice to read your replay, thx for that... Did you have any problems with the stitches removal, was it one week later, and, last question I promise!, did you have drains and a private nurse? How was the drain experience? It sounds like you chose a very impressive surgeon. I like that the antibiotics were only used the one day during surgery. Thanks in advance for your answers, best , priss

I had stitches removed 6 days after surgery & had another follow up visit where more stitches were removed. I haven't had any problems with the stitches but they do take a long time to heal as far as the redness going away & flattening out, they tend to be itchy too. I had drains after the surgery until noon the next day. If you look back at my pictures, you will see 2 with the drains in place. After my surgery I was taken to a hotel room which was connected to the hospital and had a private elevator. My husband was there with me & they showed him how empty the drains if they needed it. He took very good care of me. Then the next morning the doctor came to check on me around 9:00 am & the physician assistant came by at noon to remove the drains & I was good to go home. The drains feel a little strange but not painful, I was though, definitely ready to have them removed! Lol If you are going to be alone, I definitely would suggest getting a private nurse at least for the first night.

Thank you, I had an extremely bad neck & jowl area. I was very lucky to have such a great plastic surgeon. I was in surgery for 8 eight hours, no real problems after surgery except the swelling is going down at a slow pace, but that is just my body reacting to the surgery. He said he had to remove quite a bit of skin & reposition my neck muscles.

I am day 5 post op. after lower face S lift and liposuction to jowls and neck area. I am 65 years old.
My face is very similar shape to yours and I had the same ageing problems,
I have been so worried because of the bruising and swelling, but now after seeing your pictures I feel that I am at least on track.
We leave for overseas trip in nearly 3 weeks, so I was beginning to worry I would not be going , because at the moment I am a vampire , only going out in hoody after dark, ( I must walk or I go crazy)
Do you have any tips for faster progress of swelling and bruising?
I am taking arnica , drinking loads of water, still wearing the compression garment all the time and sleeping upright.
I cant eat solid food at the moment , living on soup, yogurt and ice-cream for a treat . Did you have this problem? Im thinking it is the lipo that is the cause?
Anyway, on your procedure you look amazing, I will be so happy if I can have such a transformation.
Thank you again.
I am not big on pictures and most of me before are of me smiling so you cant see the droop as well.
My doctor took pictures so will copy those tomorrow and then post where I am up to.
Good look with your recovery, will keep updated on you also.
