Amazing Revision Rhinoplasty Experience for Cleft Lip/Palate!
WORTH IT
I am a cleft lip and palate (CLP) patient. I had a primary rhinoplasty 3 years ago, but my nostrils remained very asymmetrical and large. The nose itself was also too large for my face, my skin was thick, and I was having trouble breathing.
When I decided to get a revision, I reached out to several surgeons—especially those specializing in cleft lip nasal deformities—and sent them my photos, but I didn't get promising feedback. I was told that because my nose was already large, adding cartilage grafts would make it even bigger or worsen my breathing. I also contacted another doctor who frequently treats CLP patients, but they only offered to fix the nostrils, claiming the overall shape was already fine.
Then I received feedback from Dr. Memet. He told me that a lot could actually be done for my nose. During the in-person consultation, he explained that my nostrils would be made as symmetrical as possible, the nose would be scaled down, the asymmetries between my right and left profiles would be corrected, and he would also treat the scars on my upper lip as much as possible.
And everything went exactly as he said! I am currently on my 4th day post-op. My nose is visibly smaller, and my nostrils are so much more symmetrical compared to before. I am already very happy with the results!
