What I want

42 and Juvederm need another doctor I think!

I decided to finally get my lips done at 42! I have always had a very small upper lip compared to my bottom lip. I have also noticed that the left side of my lip is dropping more than the right so I wanted this fixed too. I have attached before and 2 day after and hours after. It as been 3 weeks today and here is my experience and the last photo.

I meet with the plastic surgeon and he agreed that I would look good with the Juvederm. So we went through what I wanted and he kinda told me no he is more conservative and that he would rather go small and go up from there. I said ok and then I mentioned numbing cream or a dental blocker and he said I do not do dental blockers as they change the appearance of your lips and it is to hard to see what is really going on. Ok what about the cream.. he said he normally does not use it. He said that his patients have said that there is no difference with or without the cream. He said to do it without and next time he will use the cream if I need him to. Well that put knots in my stomach and I took off work darnit so I was getting it done lol
They did give me ice to try to numb it some.. some is the word. I felt every single needle and flinched for every one as well. I did not cry and it was not the worst pain I have ever felt but it definitely did not tickle!!
Next thing I know it I was done. He used less than the full syringe and saved some for the 2 week follow up. He did not massage my lips where the injections were. I was not told that I could massage them or that I should if I felt bumps on them after a day. When I got home I had large lumps on my top lip under my lip.. I tried to call the office to see if I can massage it but they closed at noon and didn't open back till Monday.

Well I was swollen some and sore but not that bad really. When I woke up the next morning I only had a small bruise if you can even call it that from where I bleed the most on my upper lip and the swelling was not bad at all! I still had the lumps but I was afraid to massage due to I read that some doctor's said not to and some said to. I didn't need to ice at all the next day. The actually fact that I did not bruise nor swell really is something great BUT the pain of it makes me not want to get more. I want to get more to even out the left side that he did not do and I still want the upper lip fuller and pouter which is what I asked for. I have an appt. in a few weeks to try another place to see if they can inject more in the top lip to even it out and to also to fix the lumps that are there and to even the bottom out some as well.

He was a good doctor just didn't really listen to me I felt like.
