2 Days to Go and It Still Seems Unreal, Excitement is on 80 but I Have Some Last Min Concerns Tho...

So I'm just about all done shopping and packed. I've received my email confirmation from Yily's office and it looks like Ill be arriving in time to get all my lab work done the day before my scheduled surgery date. I am a little concerned though because in her confirmation email it stated I should bring an additional $250 for "just in case of an emergency" I need a blood transfusion. In the event u don't need one they allegedly refund u the money the following day. However 4 of my friends have gone to Yily and "they've all needed a blood transfusions after they woke up, my question is how do you really know u needed this transfusion, and that u actually received one. I'm just not convinced this is a precautionary measure but just another way of getting u to dish out more money. I mean the meds are $250, and additional garment is roughly $200 now this new mandatory precautionary measure ur made aware of at the very last minute seems fishy... I'll keep u all updated... But I'm curious to know if there are any ladies out there who have gone to Yily and have NOT Needed a blood transfusion and got their refund back?...

I had a bbl in DR and I had to have a blood transfusion but not with Yilly, but wouldn't they give you the transfusion when your awake after surgery? Cos you really know when you need one then as you simply are too weak to move anywhere??? Be interesting to know.
Hi @Emmalita, tnanks.formur comment. I know here in the states they do it when ur awake, however 5 of my friends got work done by Yily and they were advised they had needed the "emergency transfusion" & it was done while they were under. So that's what has me concerned and curious to know how common is this and why is it only brought to ur attention at the very last min if its so common and something i would consider important to know.. but ill definitely update RS on my experience.
Well I hope you get some replies off someone who has experienced surgery with Yilly. It's not always the best on here for offering advice and support but hopefully you won't need a transfusion. Goodluck hun and keep us updated.
According to the doctor Yily you need transfusion once your hemo level goes down 8.0 mine it's at 7.9 and they want to give me blood transfusing even though I am not weak.
I believe my hemo was at a 9 so i didnt need one, but before u go in for surgery u have to pay the $250 anyway. However, getting reimbursed literally took 3 hours luckily my friend was with me and was able to be my advocate and go up and down to the other floors looking for the receptionist who would refund my money. One girl told me she didnt feel weak after her surgery and was low as well so she declined the transfusion. however later that night after she was released from the hospital and at her recovery home she got really sick and wound up having to be taken back to the ER and pay to be admitted and pay for the blood transfusion anyway. So i guess if they say ur low to be on the safe side getting one might be best.

9 Days Till This Dream Becomes a Reality...

I can't believe my sx date is next week.. I'm so excited and nervous all at the same time.. So far all my arrangements are set, now It's time to get all those essentials and the "just in case" items I'll be needing while away from home.. these things add up quick.. I didn't realize that aside from my surgery fee I'd have to come up with an additional $2,000 to cover costs like recovery house for at least 12 days, massages and of course all the things u need to take including at least $500 cash on hand... something for all of u making plans to take this journey consider and prepare for.
