I have been bothered by my labia for many, may years. The main issues are primarily interference in regards to underwear, swimsuits, and sex - I dream of no longer having to untangle the drapes to get intimate!
The feelings leading up have been more excitement and elation as opposed to nervousness. Being prepared with all the necessary pain management stuff was imperative in making me feel prepared.

Went in early in the morning for the operation. The hardest part was honestly just waiting before the procedure (about 1 hour) before they were ready for me. Once they were though, wow - it went quick!!
We did general anesthesia which was my first time. and the last thing I remember was being "arranged" on an operating table, and being told "OK I just added some medicine to your IV" :) Before I could reply with "sounds good", I'm pretty sure I was out.
I took the picture below and this is before any true swelling started. The surgeon did not want to remove my clitoral hood as we discussed in the consultation - and I agreed, I did not want to risk damaging the nerves of such a highly sensitive area - but she showed me how she sort of stitched the excess clitoral hood back, and I know she was never planning to amputate the entire labia anyway, and said she planned to leave a bout a cm on each side. I never wanted the barbie look or really believed that would look right given the side of my clitoral hood, but I did want a natural taper throughout, and I think having a cm of labia will help balance a larger hood so it doesn't dangle disproportionately. When looking at comparison pics from other users, I really just focused on women with similarly larger clitoral hoods, and based on my result so far, I am really happy :)
As of now, it's been 6 hours since the procedure. There is some swelling and bleeding, but unbelievably, NO PAIN at all. I'm trying not to move around too much, but I'm also wondering if I SHOULD since I've read the pain and swelling peaks after 2-3 days for some reason, so maybe I should take advantage of it :)
I will post updates as they come, and send pictures tomorrow!!

Day 3

A few observations:
The day after my surgery, after a glorious 10 hours of rest, I woke up ready to tackle some light house/cleaning/yard projects. I even ran some errands with minimal discomfort. The itching began last night, but spraying it with Dermablast helps.
I still cannot believe that there is no longer anything dangling down there!! I am eager to see what my clitoral area looks like, but I am already liking my new lady parts :)
The pain is manageable - I would consider it more a mild discomfort that comes and goes.
