V-line / Jaw Reduction Experience - Seoul

Hi everyone! I think wide and heavy lower face is appropriate mostly for men, making them look handsome and virile but for women it’s a No.1 enemy in a chase of beauty and happiness. Protruded or squared face doesn’t correspond to the generally accepted canons of femininity, according to which female facial features should be elegant and defined. A V-shape or oval in the form of a “heart” face gives a perception of softness and youthful charm, so chin plays quite a huge importance in person’s attractiveness. Unfortunately, not everyone has its right shape and size.
My whole life I was an owner of hamster cheeks and even when I lost a lot of weight they didn’t disappear. I realized, the problem wasn’t only in fat on my face and when I found out about v-line I understood, it was the only solution to solve my issue. I was obsessed with the idea to change my appearance and make it look perfect, so I quite quickly found the place and a surgeon. In November 2015 I came to Seoul for my v-line surgery. The clinic I went to called Banobagi Plastic Surgery and my surgeon was dr Changhyun Oh. For my squared face he suggested to proceed a T-osteotomy with angular jaw reduction to make it look v-shaped and zygoma reduction for balancing its lower and upper parts. With computer modelling dr Oh showed me my approximate results. Chin and jaw were corrected from the inside of my mouth with an access made through the incision between the gum and inner part of my lower lip.
I was under general anesthesia for almost 3 hours. When I woke up, a nurse helped to get down from the operation table, put me in a wheelchair and helped to get to my recovery room. The first few hours my chin was numb, I didn’t feel any pain, only squeezing as my face was tied with a bandage. The first few days it was almost impossible to open my mouth and I ate only liquid food with a tea spoon (using a straw is also impossible, as you have to strain all your mouth muscles and it was a bit difficult and painful the first few weeks). I was following a customized diet for about 2 months and little by little returned to normal food. Excessive swelling and bruising kept for about 2 weeks and by the end of the third month completely disappeared.
As any other procedures there were both advantages and drawbacks. The advantages include the following:
- Quick procedure for adjusting facial proportions which gives almost immediate result
- Computer modelling allows to preliminary determine the outcome
- Absence of scars
As for all possible shortcomings:
- The need for a long-term rehabilitation under a careful doctor’s supervision
- General anesthesia
- Forced liquid diet
Following all pre and post-op recommendations helped me to achieve the most favorable result with less damage to my body. Facial features became more proportional, attractive and substantially leveled up. The result will stay with me forever while the intervention itself has already been forgotten.
