I am a 27 year old male and I had recessed chin all my life and I was looking for a way to improve it. Initially I was looking to do jaw surgery but ended up going with genioplasty. Dr Jamali explained the pros and cons of both and genioplasty was definitely the right decision. Recovery wasn't that bad, liquid diet for the 1st week. I am on my 2nd week and the area is still swollen. I will upload pictures once the swelling goes down.My advice would be do your research on your own beforehand. I did a lot of searching regarding implants, jaw surgery, genioplasty and educated myself. This way I knew what is realistically achievable. Also since I had lip incompetence, 6mm advancement helped with that a lot (although I think 8mm would have been better) Now I can close my lips very easily. Everyone of his staff member was very helpful.I emailed her assistant Nina with any operative questions and she was prompt to answer any question. Cost - It was expensive and also reasonable at the same time (considering its New York city). The whole procedure including anesthesia was around 10.5K. It was well worth it for me and my only regret is not doing this sooner.

Would love to see your photos if you ever felt comfortable showing! I had a consult with Jamali back in January '21 and I was quoted 12K. Did you get your quote much earlier or did you negotiate? Just curious!

Did insurance pay for it?
