I'm Happy I Finally Did It!

Ever since I was a pre-teen I've wanted to get a chin reduction. My larger chin was something I had been bullied about, and I was always super self conscious of my appearance. I knew I always wanted to get a chin reduction but it didn't seem in the realm of possibilities. However, after 29 years of living with this insecurity I decided to go see a few doctors for consultations. Dr. Antell was the first of quite a few doctors I spoke with, and I have to say I knew right away I wanted him to perform my surgery. I liked his calm demeanor, he was confident and knowledgable. But I wanted to educate myself and really make a wise decision so I kept meeting with doctors but in my heart I knew I'd choose Dr. Antell, and in the end, I did! I'm so glad that I decided to because he is a true professional.

I was very nervous but excited the day of surgery. Dr. Antell's staff is awesome--they're all super sweet and helpful. When I woke up from surgery I was sick from the anesthesia, and the Dr's nurse (I forget her name!) stayed with me for hours after surgery, helping me while I was sick. She really cared and I was so grateful to her.

The recovery process for the first 2 weeks was honestly not bad. I wasn't in any pain and I only took Tylenol. I was definitely uncomfortable, as my lower lip and chin was very numb. I was also swollen for a few weeks but looking back at pictures, it wasn't bad! The most frustrating thing is that I am still numb 7 weeks post op but Dr. Antell had warned me that would be the case. Luckily i'm getting a lot of movement back (at first I couldn't smile, could barely open my mouth to eat so I ate mostly liquids--I lost 12 pounds in 2 weeks...BONUS!). Now I can pretty much smile normally and talk normally. Just have to be patient about the numb feeling which he told me could last months.

I am so happy with my results and I'm so thrilled I finally did it. I feel like this was meant to be my face all along! (Funnily enough a lot of people haven't even noticed I got anything done, which credits Dr. Antell's fabulous work and how subtle it is). He enhances, he doesn't make you look like a totally different person. I truly recommend him!
