I had chin liposuction with Dr. Farzadmehr on June 30th and I'm now 6 weeks post-op. As Dr. Mehr explained to me, I won't have my full results until I'm 6 months post-op, but so far I've been super happy with the results. Once you research this procedure, you'll realize that the healing journey is a bit longer than one might expect, and it's common to have lumps and bumps for several weeks if not months. You have to wear a compression garment for a long time, but I've become used to wearing it by now. I have definitely had my fair share of bumps and swelling, but they come and go, and when the swelling is down I look amazing. I wish I had been able to afford this procedure 10 years ago. It is so much flattering to the face to not have a layer of fat underneath the chin.
My weight doesn't really fluctuate and I've pretty much always been 5'3.5" and 115 pounds. My dad also had a double chin even when he was slim, so I know this issue is genetic. He also had this surgery a long time ago, and I always hoped to get it done as well.
I chose Dr. Mehr because he's an expert in this procedure and had the most (and best) reviews out of anyone in the LA area. I highly recommend him for this and will continue to update with my results over the next 6 months.

- Were you awake during the procedure? If yes, how was it?
- How long did you wear the compression garment for and did you wear it 24hrs-a-day?
- How long did it take for the swelling to go down in general?
- How much did it end up costing for you?
Would also love to hear about any new updates/results! Thank you in advance :~)
— Were you awake during the procedure? If yes, how was it?
Yes, I was awake. I did not experience any pain except some minor pinches during the numbing part that felt equivalent to a vaccine shot. The procedure is psychologically uncomfortable because you're aware of what's happening and although you feel no pain, you feel like the inside of your neck is being scrubbed. I didn't enjoy it at all, but I wouldn't call it traumatizing, either. If you have a lot of anxiety I would suggest taking medication in advance. I think it helped a lot that I meditate regularly and was able to focus on my breathing.

I wore mine for a very long time, for a full 3 months. Every surgeon has a different recommendation but Dr. Mehr was very strict about wearing my garment constantly, and for a long time. It helps that I was able to work from home. I often took it off to meet a friend for dinner or go to the grocery store, but that's it.
— How long did it take for the swelling to go down in general?
I'd say the swelling really went down after 2.5 months
— How much did it end up costing for you?
$4000
