Just Got Chin Implant Today

ekinwood
$3,200
I wanted a chin implant for the past 5+ years. I tried fillers and they helped give me the chin projection I desired, but faded after a few months. Finally I decided to pursue a permanent solution - a chin implant. I was really nervous but just went for it since I was thinking about doing it for so long.

Love it! Hope you don't change your mind like so many young kids do! I have a flat face...so was wanting a chin...but my nose is flat too! lol. So just gonna leave it. If I was young...maybe.

Thank you so much! Hopefully I don't change my mind, but I can always take it out if I do. I thought about doing it for so long so I just needed to do it.

Yep...I think if it's something you've wanted for a LONG time...and not just a spur of the minute idea, you'll keep it! Your face will grow into it, the longer you go! Good luck!

I think your results look great! I currently have the same issue with a recessed chin. I cringe at any side / profile pictures of myself, and for years I’ve been wanting to get an implant. Three questions: 1) how do you feel about the implant currently? Any regrets? Do you wish you stuck to fillers? 2) would you recommend someone try fillers first to get a feel for how they’d look with an implant? 3) Did you notice any change to your bite or mouth closure? I think because I don’t have the support of a strong chin my mouth doesn’t close on its own, I have to purposefully keep my mouth closed (if that makes sense...). I’m hoping an implant will help this. Would love to get your thoughts! Thank you!!

I got my surgery yesterday under local anesthesia. I was a little nervous about that but knew that the procedure would only take about an hour, so I felt confident I could get through it. The worst part was the numbing shots!

I was prescribed Hydrocodone (Vicodin) and took one ever 4 hours following the surgery for the first day. I was in a lot of pain.

Today is my first day post-op. I feel a lot better today! I slept most of the day yesterday and all through the night, waking up around 6 without pain. Eating is still a challenge - I get pain in my chin when opening my mouth at all. So today I will try not to talk and stay on a soft food diet.

It's been just about 24 hours since the surgery. Forgot to add the pictures in my last post. It doesn't look too bad! I feel super swollen and stiff but I like what I see so far, and my pain has gone down a lot since yesterday. Can't wait to see how it looks after the swelling goes down.

Check out my 1 day post-op pictures below.
