Chin implant - I don’t feel the doctor set realistic expectations

I had a very recessed chin and I contacted Dr. Moynihan’s office for a chin augmentation after reading lots of reviews. I can’t say enough good things about his staff, especially Susan and Nicole. They were super responsive and communicative. They thoroughly answered all my questions and were there if I needed anything at all. This was a big decision for me so I really appreciated their attentiveness.

The reason I’ve left 3 stars is that I don’t feel the doctor set realistic expectations. My initial consult with him was done virtually as it was only a year into the pandemic, so my expectations were based on his assessment of my photos and one virtual meeting. Post implant, my chin is almost exactly the same in terms of projection, which is what I was hoping to address. Dr. Moynihan knew this was my goal and led me to believe it would be accomplished. I do think the implant improved my overall facial balance, especially from the front, but my side profile essentially looks the same, and for a $7,000 procedure, the outcome is not what I was expecting.

I wish Dr. Moynihan would have better set expectations if he didn’t feel he could accomplish my goals. This was a lot of money and a big deal to me, and I wish I would have been better informed.

After I posted my review, Dr. Moynihan’s office contacted me and offered to have me meet with Dr. Moynihan. Everyone was so kind and wanted to make sure I was happy with the outcome. He suggested doing a revision and said he thought he could get me a bit more projection by essentially adding an extension to the implant. He also made sure I had more realistic expectations of the outcome. We did the revision and I’m happy with it!
