I Happily Will Be His Patient for the Rest of my Life!!!
I had been wanting to have this procedure for over 10 years, but I was never able to because no one made me feel as comfortable and confident in their abilities as Dr. Rahban has done. I only wish I had met him 10 years earlier, so I could have had this procedure done sooner. I definitely did not rush into this, but I’m elated with my decision. In the end, I ended up having three procedures all done at once. Dr. Rahban performed a chin augmentation, buccal fat removal, and fat grafting.
Dr. Rahban is the fusion of artistry and medicine. It shows in his skills. What was most important to me was obtaining a natural look. I wasn’t after a done-up look. I was extremely concerned about looking like I had something done. I was afraid of becoming a walking advertisement for how not to have things done. I knew if this happened it would be very difficult to undo this. I have to say that I expressed this concern to Dr. Rahban. After telling him what I wanted we had a frank discussion on what he felt I needed vs what I felt I needed. He assured me he would never just do something because I asked for it. He had to feel that doing so was in the best interest of the outcome I was after. He would only recommend I do what he felt would give me the natural look that I was after. He informed me that once I had undergone the procedure the change would be subtle. No one would be able to tell I had something done. They would acknowledge that I look better but not be able to pinpoint why. He was not mistaken. Family, friends, and people in general have never called me out on having something done. Even when seeing pictures of me prior to my procedure they note an aesthetic improvement, but it never crosses there mind that I had surgery to improve my appearance.
On Dr. Rahban’s advice, I saw many talented and qualified surgeons but none matched Dr. Rahban. He was extremely thorough, gave me the time I required, and I never felt rushed or pressured by him. He advised me to see several surgeons and do my research. Since this was my life and my face that we were talking about that’s exactly what I did. I saw him in May and didn’t decide to have the procedure performed by him until after 2 months. During those two months, I visited other surgeons and read infinite reviews. I never felt the comfort, dependability, and trust in other doctors like I did in Dr. Rahban. There was a feeling that I could relinquish control to him. I knew that giving up control would be necessary and feeling this made me feel that everything would be ok. There was no denying that once I went under I’d have to let him do what he is best at and I’d have wait until after the procedure to see how things went. I am happy to say that he over exceeded my expectations when it came to my surgery, recovery, and most importantly to me, my results.
I was nervous the day of the procedure. Keep in mind this was my first surgery ever. My first time going under. My first time for many things, so it was all new to me. In my mind, I had a good reason for being nervous. I have to say that everyone at the surgery center was extremely pleasant and understanding of what I was going through. Best of all Dr. Rahban and the anesthesiologist were on time and absolute professionals. I didn’t have to wait long to be taken into the surgery. Just long enough to take the necessary data from me and prep me for the procedure. I fell asleep and I woke up and it felt like it all happened in a matter of seconds.
I was fortunate to call my recovery an easy one. After surgery, I was in pain, but I had been given a prescription for pain medication prior to my surgery. I had it filled and ready for use when I got home. I am being honest when I tell you that the first 3 days were the worst for me. Each day gradually got easier. I slept a lot the first few days and I’m sure this was the pain medication. For the most part, I was only awake for my meals and medication and slept whenever possible. After the third day, I stopped taking the pain medication since the pain had subsided for me. I know it won’t be like this for everyone, but it was for me.
My follow up visits were always a breeze. I was always in and out. In total, I believe I had 4 follow up visits and each one was a wonderful experience. The office staff is amazing, and I enjoyed interacting with all of them. I was concerned about coming off as a vain and shallow person for paying attention to my appearance. That was never the case. Everyone made me feel welcomed. Everyone was so pleasant that I wanted to take everyone home with me and be friends with them all. If they knew this, it would probably creep them out though. Hahaha
There was a noticeable amount of swelling at first, but I planned ahead and took two weeks off of work at my discretion. I had to give up my workouts for 2 months which was a bit of a struggle for me because my workouts are my “me time”. They keep me grounded. Staying away from workouts for 2 months was not easy but I understood the importance of doing it. I knew that following all instructions would ultimately give me the best results. So, I did as I was told. I was compliant.
After two weeks I went back to work, and I was worried that my coworkers would notice that I had something done. There was some residual swelling and I knew this would last for a few months. However, even after two weeks, no one was able to notice that I had something done. All of my coworkers kept commenting on how good I looked and that the few pounds I had lost made such a profound impact on my appearance. Let me be direct about this. I lost NO weight. It was 100% the work that Dr. Rahban had done on me. The balance and proportions of my face had such an improved harmony that to my coworkers it appeared that I had lost some weight. Coworkers were sure that I had lost some 10 pounds, maybe more. It was all the exceptional work of Dr. Rahban.
Three weeks after my surgery I went out with a close friend for my birthday (we were dating). Although we were up close, and he could see every detail of my face he never realized I had anything done. This to me was the greatest compliment. People could see an improvement but not know I had surgery to improve my appearance. Dr. Rahban had kept his promise. He gave me the natural look that I was after. This made me SO happy.
Dr. Rahban did a stellar job. I would go back to him without any hesitation. If the need ever arises in the future, I plan to place myself in his talented care. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I happily will be his patient for the rest of my life!!!
