I had a consultation with him yesterday and I wanted to pass along my thoughts.
Hes not a very personable guy to begin with, but that wasn't a big deal to me. He listened and asked me questions. The consultation is very expensive. I paid $250 and they said they will bill my insurance another $200 for a nose "scope". This is the part that rubbed me the wrong way. The Dr. essentially took a light and looked up both of my nostrils...Typically what your general practitioner would do. It took 10 seconds and he's charging my insurance for that. To me, that sorta speaks to the type of person he is. So this will be a $450 visit and I met with him for probably 25 minutes.
The overall cost for a revision rhinoplasty was going to be around $30,000 which is an absolute joke. That is WAY too much money. Especially when no Dr. can ever guarantee a result. I don't care how good he "thinks" he is, to me, that is robbery. I will not be using him
I wanted everyone to know what to expect before going to see him.

Thank you for sharing this. I was actually considering to go see him but there are no reviews or any body of work on here or on his site and he thinks he can command that sort of money lol! Some Dr are really delusional.

He is worth every penny! Dr. Nassif is endorsing him since Dr. Toriumi fixed his nose and so I know of at least another Doctor whose nose Toriumi fixed. He is the best for revision rhinoplasties. In LA I would see Dr. Calvert.

I had my revision rhinoplasty with Toriumi in 2007 and it was the best decision I had ever made. Toriumi's surgery was my third rhinoplasty and I had no second chances on another revision and he ultimately proved to be the best. I think the majority of his bad reviews is due to the fact that patients who wanted a subtle rhinoplasty ended up with bigger swollen (at least appearing so, but it was part of the healing ongoing process ) for years. He is not a doctor you go to for a subtle or first nose job, but rather someone who can fix your previous rhinoplasties. I did not mind having a swollen or what appeared to be a bigger nose for a couple years because I knew this work would be a long term healing process (call it "project"). I am now almost 10 yrs post op and am so very happy. For revision, you go to him. Period.

By the way, if money is a big issue but you want a perfect revision, it's not worth the headache. Toriumi to me was worth every penny. I use money for the value I get in my life. $30k for peace of mind was a bargain for me. I've never been insecure about my nose after his surgery.

Hello, I am seriously considering Dr. T for a revision. I paid about $30k for 2 surgeries with another surgeon and am still left with multiple significant issues, so I agree, $30k for peace of mind and a properly revised nose is worth it. Do you mind PM-ing me about your experience? I am very interested in Dr. T.
