So today is day 3 in my retin A regiment. I had never done it before. I use Retin A 0.1% and I use it all over my face. First day I put two drops all over my face, didnt look like much, so I added some more. It took several ( like three-four) hours for it to dry. Now I know I applied too much. But then I was just hanging at home, waiting for it to dry. Next morning there was no huge results, just when I put makeup it felt like I put makeup on the top of some dry mask on my face. PS I have no acne.. I am doing it for fun?antiaging, I just like to try things.
Anyhow. Next day I applied as much as I applied first time, means A LOT and waited for it to dry. Next day my skin was red, peeling all over, dry, kind of craked and hurting... Here you go.... So I did one day break and didnt apply this time on my nosefolds, this is where it hurts the most and I am using vaseline as moisturizer. If someone can suggest moisturizer for me - I will be greatful

That sounds like way to much and too frequent. I’m only using once a week on my nose for pores and that is prob not enough. Cera Va moisturizer has sunscreen in it and it won’t clog pores try that one.

Redness and pain is not a problem anymore, like it is red, but not CRAZY RED...
Pain went away. Skin is peeling, but I use vaseline, I use it every second day now... I think I will go back to this medical spa, to get the eyelash stuff, and ask what moisturizer is the best, couldn't be vaseline the best moisturizer, right? then I will ask dermatologist again how many tomes to apply and how long the peeling should be. And maybe to get some fillers?

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Your dermatologist has done you a great disservice! I love my retin-a, but you should start sloooooowly. With the goal of causing the least irritation to the skin, I'd suggest buffering, which is either washing and moisturizing immediately, and then waiting an hour to apply a PEA SIZE amount, or adding moisturizer to the pea in your hand and then applying. Either way its only used at night, right before bed, as retin-a is only suggested for nighttime use. Also only for use on dry skin. This medication takes 6 months for results that will fully manifest in one year, and can be used forever (as long as you are not pregnant). Slathering it on will only cause damage via overdose, as it is an exfoliant. I'd suggest stopping until the redness and pain stops, then starting the right way. I used eucerin when I started.

I started with 0.05% some ppl started on 0.025% and then move up. 0.1% is a lot to handle for your skin first time! And a tiny amount, sometimes I use half pea size if my skin got particularly flared up, I'm past the red dry phase though! Yay

I'm confused. you say . 1 is a lot to handle, but I don't see any results after 6 weeks. is it because I'm using cream rather than gel?

This medication takes anywhere from 3 mons to a year to show visible, noticeable results. I am on my 7th month and it's cleared acne, scarring and the one fine line I had so far. I still see one to two blemishes a month and they resolve themselves overnight. Pores and complexion look noticeably clearer and smoother. The first two months were an exercise in frustration, but it was worth it.

Is this how your dermatologist suggested you use it? From what I've been told when you first start using it you should use a small amount every 3rd night, then slowly increase to every other night (over weeks). Its a slow gradual change, not an instant change like a chemical peel. I'm concerned that putting on the amount you are could cause more irritation than nice correction.
