I have always been in good overall shape... But after 3 natural childbirths, my belly fat seemed like it was here to stay... Diet and exercise weren't working, so I started to consider other options... That's when I came across realself and Dr. David Ross... I setup my consultation, and Dr. Ross told me I was a good candidate for either a tummy tuck or liposuction... I went with the less invasive procedure, and I must say I am satisfied with my results...

It's been 5 days since my procedure, and the pain has subsided a bit... But it seems my waist has expanded a bit... I'm thinking(and hoping) that it's due to standard women issues... But Its still early in the healing process and hopefully I will slim down more... My stomach is still definitely flatter than it was before my procedure... So I'm still satisfied...

It is still early in your healing process - give it time. I think you are doing just fine.

Yes, I am six weeks postop from smart lipo on abdomen and still have swelling. It takes a lot more time than I expected. Be patient. Mit will happen....

:). I don't think the docs tell you how long swelling can last, but it is at least three months. Surprise!

You look great. Big difference

Thanks... I hope it stays different... But ima see if the doc has anymore tips that might help me when I go to my first post op appt. tomorrow...

Wow - you look great! I've booked my lipo for April and after seeing your photos I feel encouraged that I've made the right decision (I have a similar "before" shape as you :-)
All the best with your recovery!

So far...

Wednesday was my one week post op appt. wit Dr. Ross... He told me that it does take time for the swelling to go down, usually up to 3 months to see the final results... I asked why am I look bigger than I did 3 days after, and he said that usually after you initially remove the compression garment that's when the swelling really starts to occur... However, he remains optimistic that I am going to look better than I did before( he thinks I already do. He even showed me my presurgery pics for reassurance.) im still in some pain, and he said for me to wait at least one more week before engaging in exercise, and four more weeks before incorporating crunches or ab-targeting routines. (That annoys me a lil, but it's necessary to heal properly). In the meantime, I modified my diet, and am continuing to wear my compression garments daily. Ima try to remain positive about my results and I go back to him in 5 weeks... :-)

shannan- I'm looking forward to seeing your updates! I've been on the fence about a mini tummy tuck it just lipo... Dr consult says I could go either way...
Just curious, what compression garment did you choose, are you happy with it & where did you get it?
Congrats & best wishes!

Thank you dear... They actually provided me with the compression garment that wraps around my entire midsection wit the Velcro closure... However, I did purchase a waist wrap light compression garment that fits pretty snug( I have to pull it up, and it also fits my entire midsection)... I also have some high waist control top spanks that smooth my midsection, that I wear along with either of the other garments I have (mainly for comfort, cuz the other garments can get annoying with all day wear)...

Oh yeah, the waist wrap compression garment I purchased off groupon for $20... And the high waist spanks I bought at Walmart for $11... I hope this helps... :-). And best of luck to you...

Thank you! I hate my spanx that I currently own bc they are so dang hard to pull up & take down - plus, they roll down at the top on me... And they are so expensive! I was wondering if I should look into one that zips... But then thought THAT (zipper) would likely be annoying...
Re liposuction vs mini TT: my concern is under my belly button, when I lost weight, my skin sags on either side with a line down my belly button .... I'm worried it will be the same or worse after just lipo... My dr thinks it could firm up a bit bc the lipo irritates the skin and it will swell, then calm down smoother.... I feel my before pics resemble yours somewhat... So... Like I said, I'm anxious to see your final results :). Thanks again!!

Okay... Maybe try the one that snaps, you know the corset style? They have those at Walmart as well, and they're not expensive... Another thing I was told to look into was some skin tightening cream... (My skin does sag a lil, mainly around my navel) I purchased some and hopefully after a couple more weeks I will really start to see great results...
