Waterfall effect AKA Snoopy effect AKA Ptosis

So thank you for those who have complimented my early results. I did think they turned out well at first. However, over time, despite wearing bras 24/7 except the shower, the breast tissue has slid off of the implant creating a waterfall effect. It is as if the implants are where they were originally placed, but the breast has gone south. In addition I have pain and one PS has told me I have high degree (4) of capsular contraction. I am explanting in 2 weeks so going to add the most recent pre-op photos if anyone wants to see what happens over time. Figure it is educational.

Taking them out... Explant planned.

Wishing that if I had a crystal ball, I would have just done a lift in the first place. The implants were a short term easy answer only. But now I have mysterious health issues that have no causes found despite tremendously expensive and extensive workups. Plus, they are falling off the implant now so even aesthetically, I don't love them so much. It is also somewhat hard to breathe with them. I am tiny ribbed and they are pressing. Planning to do an explant, en bloc capsule removal, muscle repair, and if possible, a lift. After that--no more!!!

7 months later...

I am so used to this look now, I am shocked when I go back and look at those flappy skin sacs I had for breasts. I have had no issues and did not need a change of wardrobe-only went up one size for tight blouses. They don’t get in the way like some comments warned. I think that I am so satisfied BECAUSE of RealSelf and the time I took in planning to do this. I had realistic expectations and a strong sense of the outcome I wanted. I am glad I went back one more time to upsize before the actual surgery, and that my doctor and staff were very supportive of being certain of what I wanted.

He was very surprised that the implants were not as big on me as one would predict. I think his exact words were “They sure don’t look like 425’s!” This is because I am tall, and had very little breast to start with. Everyone is individual, so my 425’s won’t look like yours, or hers, or hers…

Take your time planning, go try on the implants at the office in their bra, know that they will be smaller on you once implanted sub-muscularly. Still have no rippling, no pain, no drooping, no capsular contraction, and NO REGRETS!

Go for it ladies!

100% professional 100% of the time. Experienced, meticulous, and results speak. Everything went seamlessly well from start to finish. The one time I had a slight concern, he saw me right away. Staff are all truly caring, approachable, and knowledgable. At Dr Placik's practice, you are an individual, not a "procedure." Having seen his work on others, there was no question about going anywhere else. 2020 update--still stand by this review--Dr Placik is extremely skilled and proficient at placing implants. I would not have gone to anyone else. His work is beautiful and lasts. My body ultimately decided these were not the right choice for me, and I am getting them out, however this has nothing to do with Dr. Placik. I feel that he did an excellent job of explaining the risks and benefits of getting implants. If you want augmentation--you will have beautiful results with Dr. Placik.
