Day 3

I feel a little better each day. My nurses and doctors said I would most likely not need the pain meds, but I have definitely needed them. My boobs don’t hurt at all, but my abs feel extremely sore. They aren’t bad when I’m just laying down or even when I’m walking, but when I transition to sitting/laying down and getting up is pretty difficult to do on my own as they get really stiff/tight.
Also the hardest part for me (which most people wouldn’t have to deal with) is I have an old herniated disc injury from college that gets aggravated from time to time and it has definitely aggravated from me sleeping on my back. I usually can only get three hours of sleep before waking up from the pain, but sleeping on the couch has been better for me. So I’m gonna try sleeping there going forward.
Thank god I have a lot of friends and family that are nurses that have been taking care of me! (And all I’ve had to pay them is a few glasses of wine haha). The next update I’ll put up is after my follow up appt in 2 days. I’ll have some more pictures then!

Day of Surgery

So it finally happened. I got my lipo/bodytite and breast fat transfer today.

The nerves definitely hit me today, but the staff was great at calming my nerves. When I first got there they gave me a Xanax, antibiotic, and anti nausea med. Then I rested for an hour while the Xanax kicked in. Before I moved into the surgery room they gave me another half of Xanax because i wasn’t very sedated. Overall the surgery went very well. Dr Cook was very happy with the results. I am not sure how much they took out, but they put 150ccs of fat into each breast. I realize this is a lot less that more of the reviews I read on here, so I told him I wanted more, but Dr. cook said if he tried to stuff anymore in then more of the fat would most likely end up dying anyway. And since my main concern was changing the shape of my breast, I didn’t push him to add more.

My only issue with the procedure today is that I was awake during the entire 5 hr procedure. And even though I mainly felt pressure there were moments that were painful, but Dr Cook was great and added more local anesthesia.

Going home I was still a little loopy (they ended up giving me more drugs mid surgery) and was in pain, mainly in my lower abdomen. I ate and took a norco once I got home and put ice packs on my lower stomach.

Overall, I’m happy I did it and can’t wait to see my results on Monday when I see the doctor again!

I’m getting excited about my procedure coming up t...

I’m getting excited about my procedure coming up this week and wanted to make sure to share my experience since this site has been so helpful.
My dimensions:
29
5’6
175 lbs
34B
I have been looking into these procedures for a year. I am actually pretty happy with my weight, except for my lower belly and fat sitting over my abs. I am hoping with the Lipo I will get more ab definition and will get rid of my pooch. Dr. Cook also suggested using Bodytite in conjunction with Lipo to make sure my skin stays tight and no sagging. I also have pointy small boobs, so I wanted to add volume and also change the shape to more round.
I am going to Dr Cook in Chicago. He and his staff have been amazingly helpful so far. Dr. Cook even sat down and looked through fat transfer pictures from this site with me so I could show him what I wanted. He has also made sure to keep my expectations realistic. I am currently a small B and he said at the end I will be a full B/small C.
I am getting extremely excited for the procedure. The main thing I am nervous about is we have decided to do the procedure under local anesthesia. Dr Cook and his staff have reassured me that I will be just fine. I will be taking Valium, so that should help, but it still is 4-5 hrs awake during the procedure.
In preparation for my surgery this week I have cut out alcohol, and Advil. They also will make you stop taking fish oils and some herbal supplements before surgery. They suggested I start consuming blueberries, pomegranates, and really any berries for the antioxidants which should help with swelling. They also suggested eating pineapple because of an enzyme that helps reduce swelling and helps minimize bruising. I plan on working out up until the day before surgery, and otherwise keep my normal schedule.
I will update this again after surgery. I have included pre op photos for comparison. Wish me luck!
