For a long time I've had issues with my nose. I had a deviated septum which caused the right side of my nose to sort of collapse. Most doctors called it an "S" shape nose because of the way it curved. So I had two reasons to get this surgery, functionality and cosmetic. I knew finding the right doctor for me was going to be a challenge. I was an avid viewer of that hit show "botched" and the last thing I wanted to do was botch my face. I did my research and visited 4 plastic surgeons before ultimately deciding to go with Dr. Schoenfeld. I should also note my friend also had a rhinoplasty with him and her results were phenomenal. Rhinoplasty's are expensive but if this is truly something that will make you happy then its worth the investment. I had my surgery on January 5th, 2018 and the first week was really tough. Not being able to breathe from you nose is annoying and dries out your mouth. Sleeping can be difficult as well but luckily my doctor prescribed me Ambien. I took the pain medicine that I was prescribed for 2 days and then I switched off to Tylenol on the 3rd. So pain really wasn't too bad for me. I barely bruised but swelling was noticeable. The office gave me a little care package pre-surgery that included supplements for bruising and swelling which I think really made a difference. I'm exactly one month post op and I'm super happy with my results so far. My nose is straight and a tad bit smaller. I wasn't looking for a super fake nose but something that I could have been born with. I definitely still have swelling in my tip but that should subdue over time. If I had the chance to do it all over again I totally would.

Dr. Schoenfeld has a way of really making you feel comfortable. Hes super down to earth, honest and has a great sense of humor. I visited three plastic surgeons before him and never felt like "wow that's my doctor" until I met him. During his consultation he examined my nose and brought up all my paint points from my list. He took a few photos and showed me what he envisioned for my nose. He has a software that allows him to "photoshop" a nose based off what he thinks is feasible. He was going to reduce my turbines, fix the collapsed nostril, straighten my nose, and make my tip a little more cutesy. It was a nose that fit my face perfectly. I was so happy and excited that day I almost booked my appointment immediately. After working out my schedule I booked my appointment and anxiously awaited my surgery day. Fast forward to post surgery, he personally called me to check-in on how I was doing. Not every doctor does this and I think its a true testament to the kind of person he is. I had two follow up appointments. The first is where he removed my splint and stitches. This is the appointment where I got to see my nose for the first time and I was super emotional. I could tell he was proud of the work he did and pleased with my reaction. The second appointment was to see how everything was healing and he cleaned my nose out a bit. Honestly I'm sad I don't have to go in for a while because its a treat to visit him. I'm so lucky to have met him and thankful for how he has improved my life. If you are looking for a plastic surgeon in the DMV I highly recommend him.
