My experience with Dr. Dufresne was the absolute worst experience I've ever had with a doctor. There isn't a close second. I went to Dr. Dufresne to get fillers. It seemed straightforward and simple enough. However, Dr. Dufresne injected filler into one of my veins, causing blood to be unable to flow freely to my skin cells. This should not happen with an experienced injector. As if that wasn't bad enough, Dr. Dufresne did not try to help me or fix the situation in any way. I returned to him the day after the injection. At that point my nose was bloody, I couldn't breathe out of one nostril, I was in a lot of pain and my cheeks and outside of my nose were extremely swollen and red. He just looked at me and told me that it would go down in a few days. He was so extremely nonchalant about the situation. He didn't apologize or offer to help. He didn't express any form of concern whatsoever. Spoiler alert, the swelling and blood did not go down and I ended up in the emergency room. The doctor there could not see into my nose because it was so swollen and bloody. He was floored when I told him that Dr. Dufresne did not remove the filler and monitor the situation after seeing the complications I experienced. The doctor gave me medications, which ended up helping with the swelling and the pain. He also monitored my progress because he was concerned that I could develop necrosis. Necrosis is a rare side effect that can occur when filler is injected into a vein, restricting blood flow, which causes cells to die. It's extremely serious and needs to be treated immediately. It turns out that only a substantial portion of my vein was blocked, not the entire vein, so I did not develop necrosis (just an extremely painful bloody infection that made it difficult to breathe for several days). Dr. Dufresne should have monitored my condition for several days. He most certainly didn't. When you put your trust in the hands of a doctor, you expect them to deliver good results. Clearly that didn't happen with Dr. Dufresne. Doctors are human and they make mistakes. When they make a mistake, you expect them to try to remedy the situation. That was so far from the case with Dr. Dufresne. He caused my medical issue and acted with such callous disregard for my wellbeing when I returned to him in my vulnerable state. I can't warn people enough to stay away from Dr. Dufresne. He is a callous, unskilled, harmful, and narcissistic man who does not care about the well being of his patients.
