2 Weeks Post Op

Age Is Only A Number
WORTH IT$10,700
2 weeks today! I'm feeling really good, still very tight feelin I inside my jawline and sides of my neck, and swollen just in front of my ears. Hubby said it's gone down a lot. I'm putting vasoline only, on the incisions.
Incision under my chin has healed, but very pink. Healing well in front and around ears, but those are pretty tender.
Went camping this weekend and it was a great get away. Couldn't get in the water past wading, but the weather was beautiful. I wore a big hat, sunscreen and a tshirt around my neck. Looked hilarious! It felt good to get out of the house. Nobody looked at me like I was weird.
I've always had a bit of sub glandular protrusion under my jawline, but was not willing to have them shaved or cut out...def not worth the risk.

Yes, your results look so good and it has been only two weeks? That's amazing! My facelift and fat transfer surgery is for Sept.12th....only a week now. I am assuming that I will have more swelling with fat transfers. Did you have general anesthesia? My PS said it will take four hours so I am trying to decide on this. I turned 62 last month!

Thank you! My husband says my face swelling has really gone down a lot… He doesn't think anyone would notice but I'm still very self-conscious because of the tightness feeling. I had General Anastasia, my surgery was three hours. I had no problems with it… I felt like I was in really good hands with the staff at the surgery center. When I came out of surgery I remember in recovery my blood pressure dropped and they gave me a blood pressure pill… I don't really remember anything. No problems. I really don't know much about fat grafting, I have a friend who had fat grafting done with her facelift and she had lots of swelling, it seems like it took about 2-3 weeks for her swelling to really go down to about normal.
Good luck! I'm sure your results will be beautiful as well! I am thrilled!

you look fabulous!! I hope I can recover half as well. Please keep us updated on your progress. How is the swelling and numbness?
September 6, 2017
Thanks! I'm sure you'll do just fine… It's an odd feeling in front of my ears, very numb and sometimes tingly. I'm still swollen just in front of my ears and on The back of my neck under those incisions at the hairline. The tingly part they say are the nerves coming back to life… I have to admit I'll be glad when the numbness in tingling fades.

Sue182 I looked in the Q&A section...numbness should be better by 3 months, might take as much as 6-12 months. It's a normal process and every one recovers differently. :)

You look stunning, such a smooth jawline! I believe I have sub glandular protrusion also. It must have been hidden before my neck lift, lol. Did your doc say if there's anything you can do other than surgical? Right after surgery, my neck was so tight, then that sucker popped out during allergy season a few months later. Thank you for sharing your journey!

Thanks! Just surgery, which I won't do. The loose skin is what bugged me! When I get sick, they swell up too, so nothing new here! I'm thrilled!!

9 Days Post Op

Age Is Only A Number
Today is 9 days Post op and I'm feeling wonderful! Yesterday was my first follow-up appointment with my doctor… He remove the staples and some stitch knots. I have a little irritation on my right ear lobe from the peroxide and Polysporin, so now I will be using mild soap and water with Vaseline. It has already cleared up since yesterday. I am getting little tingles and twitches on my surgery site, which is normal and part of the healing process. I'm taking Tylenol during the day and 1/2 Norco at bedtime. I cannot believe the transformation in one week… My swelling is definitely going down on the sides of my head/cheeks but they are still numb. I slept so much better last night with the staples removed… He said I didn't have to elevate anymore, but it felt better to sleep on an extra pillow. No more face sling… Yay!

I absolutely can't believe you are 62!! Your results at just 9 days are incredible. Your skin looks flawless. Your jaw and neck.......perfection. I am following you closely and look forward to your updates.
September 2, 2017
Wow, thanks! I've always taken very good care of myself, inside and out. The neck seemed to happen so fast it was shocking. Thank you :)

Well 20 years gone in an instant. How is your daughter handling all of this? May I ask her age? I worry about my daughter.
September 5, 2017
She's 30. Doing fine, wants me to be happy and get my confidence back. Good luck!

Fantastic!! Congratulations !

Looks like the lower neck may have gotten significant improvement from the elongated nape incision. Makes sense that it would allow for better draping of that critical area than lower lifts that only lift from just behind the ear. Hope you'll continue to update as swelling and the other plumping effects of surgery subside. Really would love to see your result at month 4-6. You look great! In case you mentioned this elsewhere and I missed it~ what type of anesthesia did you use and how long was the surgery? Thanks, grace
September 2, 2017
Hi Grace...thank you for the compliments. I was under general anesthesia and surgery was about 3 hrs. I've always done well u Ser general. The swelling is subsiding , but have a ways to go. I'll be sure and post updates. Thanks.

Day 6

Age Is Only A Number
I skipped day five since there's not much change… My bruising is lessening… Getting very yellow in fading. Not sure where that one came from on my chin, it's not doing much of anything. I guess my skin is pulling behind my ears… It wakes me up about 4 o'clock in the morning aching terribly. I took a half a pain pill, and then I'll use Tylenol during the day. It seems to get better once I get up and move around … And have my coffee!

Did you also have a chin implant?
August 28, 2017
Nope...it's amazing how a lift and platysmal band correction changed the look tho.
