Day after surgery, I had pain last night but the hydocoone/tylenol worked well. Sleeping was a challenge being propped up but not terrible. Quite a bit of swelling, bruising, and still bleeding so I'm keeping the gauze on. I'm icing every 2 hours for 20 minutes, taking an antibiotic, arnica, and VitaMedica medicines.
I can not say enough good things about Dr. Maack. I have seen him over the past couple years for some minor things and he also did my rhinoplasty. The amount of attention and care I received was amazing. He always takes his time to talk me through things and make me feel comfortable. I am almost two years out from my surgery and I am in love with my new nose. I am so thankful I went with him for my procedure.
Excellent outcome of a procedure I have put off for years. No discomfort or pain following the surgery and I was able to breath freely right away. The doctor and his staff were excellent all the way through the process from first visit through follow up appointments after. I would highly recommend the procedure and the doctor / practice
I am 2 months post surgery and could not be happier with my results. Dr Maack is an amazing surgeon. I had a sept/rhinoplasty and the results are much improved breathing and subtle refinement of nose. Dr Maack was forthright with all the health information and post op recovery. His approachable demeanor and genuine passion in helping others sets him apart.
I had a consultation with Tonia and Rae for filler injections ..Both super nice and professional .. They suggested three specific areas First .. A hollowed out portion on my cheeks Second .. Side of my chin Lastly .. underneath my eyes around my nose has a sunken appearance I did all three areas and am pleased with the results There is some discomfort especially around the eyes however the pain was manageable I had little to no bruising .For great results you definitely need to budget for 3 syringes .. Thank you to the Synergi staff for making my experience stress free.. best med spa staff in St.Louis
Dr. Maack is fantastic! I had laser resurfacing done to my face and I am very happy with my results so far. He is a master behind the laser, I feel like he took 10 years off my face! I highly recommend him if your considering this procedure!
AMAZING!! I had a septoplasty last May. I have to say from the beginning to the end all went smoothly and perfectly! My results are amazing! Just know that Dr Maack, his private staff, as well as his staff at St Luke’s Hospital were all amazing! I could not be happier!
I recently got into a car accident and it resulted in a fractured crooked nose. Dr. Maack did an amazing job on my nose and not only is it perfect looking on the outside but I can breathe better than I have before! I really appreciated how nice he was towards me and listened to all my concerns. I will definitely be coming back to visit him with any future concerns or needs.
Did you ever look in the mirror and ask yourself "who's that?" I've been do it for a few years now, and the last 6 months or so, that person's been looking back at me and screaming for help!! I finally did it...a SMAS facelift and platysmal band correction. I was looking much older than I feel, and decided to do something about it. My surgery was yesterday morning, 8/21/2017 and I'm home recovering now. It was such a positive experience from beginning till now… Of course this is just the day after! I went to see Dr. Maack for a consultation a few months ago and immediately felt that this was the dr. to do my surgery. He's sweet, soft-spoken and extremely knowledgeable. He's double certified in facial reconstruction and ENT doctor. He was very conservative and gave me exactly what I was hoping for! I'm taking norco for pain and a sleeping pill at night. Instructions are to sleep upright for 2 weeks, very light activity, polysporin on incisions. Dr. Maack uses a surgery center next to his office. I spent the night with 24 hr. care and he popped in 3 times after surgery to check on me. Then he came in first thing this morning and took the gauze wrap off....what a relief that was! Here are a few pictures and I'll try to post daily. Updated on 23 Aug 2017: I actually had a pretty good night. Slept in recliner so I could maybe minimize swelling...I'm going to swell no matter what, but it's worth trying. Taking norco for pain...which I definitely need, Arnica Montana for bruising, and antibiotics. Also vitamins from drs office which don't containe vit E...which can cause bleeding. Today I get to shower and rinse hair without soap. It's going to feel wonderful. Applying peroxide to one area and polysporin on all incisions. Hubby's been wonderful. I just plan on not doing much and recovering. Still glad I did it ???? Updated on 23 Aug 2017: Since nobody except my daughter and husband know about this, I check in to real self a lot. It's keeping me company and answering my questions and concerns. Nurse just called and said sounds like all is well. I'm following directions. Updated on 23 Aug 2017: I'm interested in the bruising… Taking pictures and looking at them side-by-side really help me feel better about the swelling and bruising. I'm only day two, but I'm thinking the bruising looks pretty good. I'm taking Arnica Montana tablets, prescribed vitamins that don't contain vitamin E which can cause bleeding which both I got from Dr. Maack's office. I started taking the vitamins two weeks before surgery and continue for two weeks after surgery. I also bought Arnica gel at the pharmacy, which is supposed to help control the bruising and swelling. I only put the gel on the bruised area and not the incision. I put Polysporin on the incision two or three times a day. Tomorrow I get to take a shower and shampoo my hair with baby shampoo. I'm staying on top of the pain with my Norco every five hours, which really helps. I can feel it burning when the medicine starts to wear off. For the next two weeks I will sleep in a recliner or propped up and no bending over. Updated on 24 Aug 2017: Day 3, I got to shower and shampoo with baby shampoo. It felt wonderful! Wounds look clean and so much easier to see. Daughter says they look great. I think I agree. I'll get staples and stitches out on Tuesday the 29th. Patience is the key. Days are going along kinda slow. 6 new pictures to compare progress. One with my chin tilted down...no turkey neck!! I'm loving my new fresh face and neck! My neck feels very tight, itchy, tender to the touch and a bit numb at this point. Updated on 25 Aug 2017: Today was good...trying to keep busy but not do anything that could set me back. Bruising is turning yellow...I'm pretty sure that's a good thing. Swelling seems to SLOWLY be going down. I used frozen peas for 10 minutes wrapped in a towel. They say ice can be too cold on delicate skin. It felt wonderful! 8 hrs between pain meds, and then I only took half. I'll take a whole one at bedtime. Should have used a Tylenol in between. Platysma muscle is very sore and tight...but that's ok! It's not hanging down anymore!! Yay!! Still wearing the face sling ;) but it's holding it all together. Not taking any chances. I take it off some, just to relax. I'm ready to be back to normal...patience :) My Post op appt is Tuesday 29th. Anxious to get staples out. Updated on 25 Aug 2017: It actually feels good, supportive. Also feels good to take it off foe a while. Updated on 27 Aug 2017: I skipped day five since there's not much change… My bruising is lessening… Getting very yellow in fading. Not sure where that one came from on my chin, it's not doing much of anything. I guess my skin is pulling behind my ears… It wakes me up about 4 o'clock in the morning aching terribly. I took a half a pain pill, and then I'll use Tylenol during the day. It seems to get better once I get up and move around … And have my coffee! Updated on 30 Aug 2017: Today is 9 days Post op and I'm feeling wonderful! Yesterday was my first follow-up appointment with my doctor… He remove the staples and some stitch knots. I have a little irritation on my right ear lobe from the peroxide and Polysporin, so now I will be using mild soap and water with Vaseline. It has already cleared up since yesterday. I am getting little tingles and twitches on my surgery site, which is normal and part of the healing process. I'm taking Tylenol during the day and 1/2 Norco at bedtime. I cannot believe the transformation in one week… My swelling is definitely going down on the sides of my head/cheeks but they are still numb. I slept so much better last night with the staples removed… He said I didn't have to elevate anymore, but it felt better to sleep on an extra pillow. No more face sling… Yay! Updated on 4 Sep 2017: 2 weeks today! I'm feeling really good, still very tight feelin I inside my jawline and sides of my neck, and swollen just in front of my ears. Hubby said it's gone down a lot. I'm putting vasoline only, on the incisions. Incision under my chin has healed, but very pink. Healing well in front and around ears, but those are pretty tender. Went camping this weekend and it was a great get away. Couldn't get in the water past wading, but the weather was beautiful. I wore a big hat, sunscreen and a tshirt around my neck. Looked hilarious! It felt good to get out of the house. Nobody looked at me like I was weird. I've always had a bit of sub glandular protrusion under my jawline, but was not willing to have them shaved or cut out...def not worth the risk.
My visit with Dr Maack was great. I didn't have to wait to get an appointment or to get in when I arrived. He & his staff were very attentive & went over everything that we were going to be doing. I never felt the needle, he's so gentle. I would never go anywhere else for my Botox except maybe Synergi MedSpa!

Microneedling has many benefits for anti-aging, improving skin's tone and texture to reducing fine lines and pore size. We recommend a series of treatments a month apart, 3 to 6 depending on your skin needs. This service can be performed with HA or PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma).
Yes, CoolMini is an FDA cleared device approved for submental (double chin) fat destruction. This can be accomplished in one or two treatments. We recommend evaluation by a facial plastic surgeon to determine if liposuction, CoolMini or Kybella would be best for your individual needs.
Hi. I agree with the other recommendations. Arnica Montana is a natural supplement that helps flush out bruising and swelling. It is ideal to begin taking immediately after an injectable treatment. We also recommend using the BBL (Broad Band Light) therapy to help break up the bruise. If the bruise still persists for your vacation, there are some great concealers specifically made to cover up bruising. Good luck and enjoy your vacation.
Hi. I agree with Dr. Sieber comments and recommendations. You are a beautiful young woman and could benefit from some treatments to repair sun damage such as BBL (Broad Band Light). In addition, I would recommend Sculptra to help soften the frame of your face and enhance your beautiful eyes again. Make sure you seek treatment from an experienced, reputable medical facility with a facial plastic surgeon. You have great facial structure to work with. Good luck.
