i think the heat contributes as the weather gets warmer. Also, I'm only a week behind you and I just stitched to industrial strength spanx. Are you still wearing compression?
User Avatar
May 8, 2015
Yes I wear compression 50% of the time during the day and every night. I stopped for about a week but then quickly realized that I still needed it to control swelling :)

I feel ur pain but unlike me atleast ur swell hell will subside n u will eventually have a flat stomach! U still look amazing even with the swelling, im jealous!

Awww thanks... what are you saying? Your swelling has issues or what?
May 10, 2015
Im a yr po on may 28 and my stomach still looks the same b4 the tuck i just dont have all the loose skin and all the stretch marks. I need a revision badly.

Did you get a full?
May 27, 2015
Sorry for just replying back to ur answer but I went on two vacays. Yes I had a full TT and May 28, will be a full yr so I will post pic for my one yr anniversary. How are you doing, are you still satisfied with your revision since it's been some time now?

You still look great, even with the swelling. :) But I completely understand how you feel.

Thanks so much but yeah it plays mind games with me lol

You are so lucky - at least you have no belly button problems or fat transfer from your PS's failures on the revision!!! You look wonderful!!!
User Avatar

Oh no that sucks... I am sorry you are going through that :(
May 10, 2015
It does suck, but it is what it is. I see PS Monday and I'm hoping if a 2nd revision needs to be done that it is on him - I have already paid $4800 for initial, $425 for velashape he recommended that did nothing and hurt like hell, $550 for revision (5 small areas) and all the drugs and compression/spanx. I just had my belly done - no back fat, no thighs, no flanks - I think he is extremely expensive especially for this area. I will pray he says he'll do it on him since I've had problems with the belly button from day 2 and his fat transfer from his revision - we shall see. I've done my work - exercising, belly exercising - down from 148 to 135 - there's nothing more I can possibly do.

My ps told me to start exercising my muscles when I told him that I wasn't satisfied with the results. I've been exercising for a year with no result from it. It's just so much exercising that you can do to see a change in your body. A lot of times working out is just not enough. He might have said that bc he did not want to revise me. I feel your pain.
May 10, 2015
If I lose anymore weight I will be a skeleton. LOL!
May 10, 2015
I feel yours, too!!! Some PS's care about the jobs they do and others, like mine, really don't care - friendly at first and then wants more money, more money!!!
May 10, 2015
Me, too - 135 is where my body looks it's best - if I go down more, I look gaunt in the face and everyone notices!!!

7 weeks 2 days post op!! Swell hell!

User Avatar

Hello ladies I haven't posted in about 4 weeks it looks like. Sorry about that just been so darn busy!

Anyway just wanted to post and say that weeks 4 - 6 were awesome! I only experienced some minor swelling but the last few days I am in total swell hell. Anyone else experience this at 7 weeks post op? Is it normal? It drives me crazy!

I will try to post a side by side comparison of how I look in the morning compared to how my stomach looks in the evening. Doc said I didn't need to wear the compression garment anymore but I love using it when I get really swollen. It helps a little bit!!

Me too, but apparently not... :(
May 4, 2015
Oh great I'm about the same 7 weeks and still swelling. ..so guess all in normal :) yea.. I have had a few issues with infected seroma/ hematoma of some kind so Dr told me to continue light compression a couple more weeks. But I agree I feel better during the day in the compression especially working long days. Look forward to your pics.

How did you know you had seroma? This swelling got me concerned but I don't have pain anywhere and I thought I read that when you have seroma that you feel pain...

2 weeks & 5 days post op! Started scar care / weird bubble blister looking thing... Lots of questions for you ladies too :)

User Avatar

Had a follow up with my PS today.. he says all looks good and says that I am still pretty swollen on my sides then said after the swelling goes down we can consider liposuction on the sides if I wanted to or I could just work it off with exercise.. not sure how I should take that because I wanting lipo from the beginning but he didn't want to because he thought I would look deflated :( not sure what's up with that! Anyway he said I can now pick up my kids but I can't start working out my core yet because I can risk widening the incision which would make for a less attractive scar long term... but can do any other workouts that doesn't inpact the core. He recommended Skin Medica Scar Recovery Gel so I started with that today. Anyone else use the strips rather than the gel? I heard alot of good things about the strips so not sure why he recommended the gel. Any thoughts?

I am SO FRICKEN HAPPY from the front and side view but from a couple other angles from the back side it still looks very weird where the sides stick out... anyone else have this and it turned okay after swelling was gone?

I also have this weird bubble/blister looking spot on my incision in the very front... he was thinking maybe a pubis hair is causing inflammation or possibly the incision is trying to "spit a stitch" so I asked what to look for and he said if it turns red to call the office. Anyone else have this on their incision before? If so, how did you care for it etc...?

You look good girl, and since you hv a blister at your scar that s y he recommend the gel instead of scar strip.

I asked a ps that I work with about scar therapy he told me plain bacitracin ointment will work fine and massage the scar best thing you can do.. They wanted me to buy the skin medica stuff also but I paid almost 30,000 for this surgery for 250$ should of included it in the package in my opinion. I have the same problem in the back and going to have to have lipo done. I may be changing my review, I also have an area on my right breast looks like either a suter or blood trapped under the skin from being pinched with a pick up during surgery.. (being a OR nurse I know these things) no sure what he is going to do with that either, I guess I will find out on 6/2. If you have a spitting stitch I would cover with gauze bad with antibiotic ointment on it for a couple of days .

They offered the two bottles together (gel plus whatever the other one was) for the $250 but I only got the scar gel for $100 but yeah I wasn't too hip on spending that kind of money for it... I am going to have to wait it out too before I even add my review. I think I am going to wait the full 6 months before I add my review to see what happens with my sides etc.... I do ABSOLUTELY LOVE the front and side views though. What does being pinched with a pickup mean? When you say massage the scar, is that to reduce the hardening under the incision? He didn't say anything about massaging...
User Avatar
April 1, 2015
Yes massaging the scar is to reduce the build up of tissue under it so it softens and lightens it will be less tense. It is an instrument used during surgery to grab the skin while they are putting sutures in. Grabbed to close to outer layer of skin should of gotten the inner surface and didn't. (sometimes sucks to know to much about this. ) I still have bruising in my incision line which seems to be pretty high up. I can't believe you are starting scar therapy at 2 weeks.??? That is pretty early. Not usually till one month mark?? be careful what you apply if you think you have a splitting stich? That is a break in the skin at your suture line can lead to infection.

You know alot :) I am 3 weeks tomorrow so not sure if thats too early? I am watching that part of the incision like a hawk for any redness, any opening etc... Thanks for your feedback!
April 2, 2015
Well i was using gel strips on breast and tummy tuck scars and i had to stop using them bc they irritated my skin and made them red so i didnt try anything else aftet tht.
User Avatar

I was using scar away and they did the same thing to me. Then asked the PS I work with what was best to do. He said massage and bacitracin ointment.

A lot of that side stuff is still swelling. To me it makes sense to do the lipo and TT together so they can pull it down tighter. I don't know. Every surgeon has his/her preferences. You look great :)
User Avatar
April 3, 2015
I was thinking that too.. about the lipo and TT needing to be done together. I guess I will just have to wait it out and see how it looks at about 2 - 3 months post op.
