Prominent Ears

I couldn't wait to write this review if I went ahead with the procedure to have my ears pinned back as I really struggled to find UK reviews on the surgery. I have always been very conscience of my ears to the point I would never leave the house with my hair up. After booking my wedding it gave me the push I needed to get it done. I contacted the Grosvenor Nuffield hospital in Chester and was given a few consultants names. I chose Mr Jonathan Adamthwaite and after my first consultation I knew he was the right choice.

I was in and out of hospital in 1 day and the care there couldn't have been better!

I found the recovery harder than I thought but it was bareable. I had to have my bandage on for a whole week with a course of antibiotics which was hard work at first but I got used to it. The first night wasn't easy at all once the anaesthetic and painkillers had worn off and with the size of the bandage there is no part of your head you can lie on without being in pain. After the first few days it got a lot easier and before the end of the week I didn't need any painkillers.

A week later I travelled back to the hospital to have my bandage removed and the staff again were lovely! The process was really easy, painless and a huge relief. The results were amazing and even though they were still very swollen and bruised you could instantly see they no longer stuck out! After the bandage had been removed I still couldnt wash my hair for nearly another week as I couldn't get my ears wet.

I have to now sleep in a fabric headband for 3 months and I still can't lie on my ears 6 weeks later but I have got a travel pillow so my ear sits in the hole so I can lie on my side - best idea ever! Each day they get better and better! The swelling is now pretty much gone and they are only numb at the top still.

I literally couldn't be happier with the result and I wish I had done it sooner. I now have no issues putting my hair up what so ever!
