So I’ve done zygoma reduction surgery with genioplasty at banobagi a year ago. I healed pretty fast, with almost no bruising but swollen enough. The reason to proceed my surgery was facial asymmetry as my left and right sides were different which put me in a lot of discomfort every time I took pics as on pics it was even more obvious.
My main advice for those who’s gonna proceed any bone shaving operation is to massage your face after and put as many and as often ice or cold packs as you can that helped me a lot to get rid of swelling much faster. Pain was minimal I got only inside of my mouth because of incisions but it was totally gone by day 5 or so. Because of the tape on my chin swelling brought me lot of discomfort and I felt like my face was about to burst and once I removed it I felt a bit better. Another good advice is to walk everyday at least 30 mins that helps to blood circulation with also contribute to faster recovery.
On week 2 stitches were removed and felt good enough for my everyday life not all 100 tho. For about 2 weeks I rinsed my mouth every time I ate. The first 1 month I was able to eat only soft foods like eggs, porridge, tofu etc. After week 6 I increased my walking outside time to at least an hour a day. By month 3 I could eat pretty much everything, felt way better and experienced less discomfort in my daily life.
My full recovery reached me by month 5 the time when I could normally open my mouth and eat whatever I wanted. The most satisfying thing is my natural result. I doing great, don’t experience any discomfort or side effects. Totally satisfied.
